Atlas - classic glass dildo by EdenFantasys - review by Venus A

The Atlas can have a variety of uses in the bedroom. It can be used as a standard anal/vaginal dildo, in solo play, with an intimate partner, or with a hands-free harness. I have heard this can be used for temperature play. For cooling, Atlas can be placed in the freezer for short periods of time, refrigerator, or cooled in ice water. For heating, it can be placed under warm or hot water. I don't recommend microwaving Atlas, it can cause burns or can. As a non-porous glass toy, it has the ability to go into different environments, like underwater in baths or in a Jacuzzi. As a bonus to the non-porous quality, it can be shared between partners, when sterilized between uses.

Because of the Atlas's flared base, it has the advantage of being used safely vaginally or anally, without getting lost. This also can be attached to a harness because of its base.

As a first time toy user, this is valuable experience for me in learning my likes and dislikes in both glass and toys in general. More than likely this will be entertaining for the beginner or for the more advanced user. This toy has a lot of potential, that is only limited by your imagination.

This toy is made of medical grade glass. I have a few experiences with the qualities of this material. It is tasteless, odorless, and without residue. It's Aegean blue glass tint only adds to the beauty. It may not feel realistic, but glass has ability to change temperature, which brings an added side to bedroom play.

The fluid nature of glass allows it to be made into any form conceivable; once set into it's shape, it becomes completely rigid. With Atlas, the smooth, ridge-less length of glass provides for a basic phallic form, in which to experiment with new sensations of insertion, within previously unexplored places. There are no bumpy distractions that come with other dildos; Atlas's from is solidly smooth, linearly unbroken, and has a sleek form, which in itself is useful for a multitude of applications.

It's rigid nature can cause bruising if used to roughly anally or vaginally. If chipping or cracking occurs on the Atlas, discontinue use to prevent injury. Even though the Atlas is made of borosilicate glass and therefore more shatter resistant under thermal stress; it is still a good idea to prevent it from going from one extreme in temperature to another to quickly, due to the possibility of the glass cracking. This means You should avoid freezing it and applying it to boiling water, otherwise is will crack. Also, glass does have a tendency to chip, crack, or break when dropped on hard surfaces, and great care should be taken to prevent it from being dropped on hard surfaces.

Both beginners and more advanced users will find the smooth texture and temperature changing properties, a sensory complex instrument of pleasure.

Atlas's shape is reminiscent of a cross between a children's toy glitter wand and elongated crystal ball (I wonder if I could see into the future with this?).


It is the most beautiful sapphire blue. The shape is a solid straight cylinder only broken once, with a flared out base. Dimensions are important here:

As far as discretion goes, my Atlas came with a nifty little red velvet drawstring bag, subtle enough that it can be well hidden among lingerie. I wouldn't hold my breath wondering if one of my snoopy friends will find it. The lack of ridges or curvature doesn't bother me as a first toy. It gave me a sense of my dimensions, my limits, and my preferences. I don't know if it is a good fit for everyone, but it is was a worthwhile exploration for me.

As I have said before there are no limits to your imagination, so I had fun with the Atlas' versatility. It warms up quickly to your body temperature. Because of the nature of glass as brittle, I treated Atlas as such, but I am sure my preoccupation with its supposedly frail nature will be left behind as I have more time with my new toy. Seeing the base, I know that it is harness compatible, even if I have not attached it to a harness.




Performance wise, I felt that Atlas was phenomenal in bed; it stretched my boundaries of what I thought toys could do. It's smooth texture helped me to feel, in an almost tactile way with this instrument, my internal structure and shape. I had no idea of my own capacity or internal strength until Atlas. Texturally, it lacks bumps, ridges, swirls or curves, which might bother others who are used to more textural variation along the shaft of a dildo. For me, this textural elongated and smooth shaft was perfect for my self exploration as a beginner in the realm of toys; for other beginners, it's hard glass material could be intimidating as a first toy. As for size, I originally had no idea what my preference would be as a beginner, but have learned to value it's "average" size for me, for others may find it overwhelming or underwhelming in that regard.

For me, Atlas is only the beginning, but I am so excited to have this wonderful piece of functional glass art in my home. I have so many plans for Atlas that include adding attachments and using it for other fun games I have yet to experience. Atlas has both exploratory applications for me and rudimentary phallic design for me to build on for my future collection of toys. There is one only a few things I would improve on with the design for the next Atlas generation. More than likely most would agree that including either gradual bumps, ridges, or swirls for the more advanced user would be an option for future designs.

Atlas's non-porous nature will ensure easy cleaning. It can be run through the dishwasher or boiled to sterilize it. For basic cleanup, toy wipes or soap and water will work as well. The glass is compatible with just about any lubricant. I am not too familiar with lubricants, but most other glass toys can be used with just about any lubricant on the market. I just stored mine away in its velvet bag and hidden from prying eyes, but I am thinking about getting something more padded for it, as the bag is a bit thin.

It came to me wrapped in a square of bubble-wrap, neatly tucked into its velvet bag and surrounded by butcher paper as cushioning. The box was discreetly labeled from a "Merchant" company. I am also happy to report, that all packaging material is recyclable, which is always a bonus in my book.

I would like to try MORE glass toys, perhaps with ridges, bumps or a swirling color. This was definitely a good choice for my first toy.
