Like a thermometer, but better

This toy is beautiful but I had a hard time getting it anywhere near my G-spot because it is quite straight and (being made of glass) quite hard.
Beautiful, easy to clean, different stimulation options, great for role-play
Too straight, too thin (there's also a 1-inch version)

When the spiral probe|Glass probe by Phallix first rolled out of its packaging, my jaw dropped. Glass toys are definitely my favorites in terms of aesthetics, and this one is particularly attractive. The clear shaft, swirly blue ribs and the bulb on one end alternately bring to mind a fairy wand and a thermometer – perfect for all sorts of fantasies and role-plays|Sexual Fantasies!

I was incredibly turned on just by the looks of the toy and couldn't wait to get it in me. The smooth, non-porous glass requires far less lube than other materials and, having produced plenty of my own, I skipped it completely. As far as utility goes, however, the spiral probe leaves much to be desired. I have the smaller 3/4” version and for me that just doesn't do it. The ribs feel great moving across the entrance to my vagina but once inside the smoothness of the toy doesn't lend itself well to the kind of satisfying friction that gets me off. Increasing the speed and pressure with which I was moving it didn't help. Worse than the size of the toy is its shape – this dildo is just too straight! To get it anywhere near my g-spot, I had to angle it so far down that it became uncomfortable. It also became difficult to hold onto once my juices had gotten all over it as there is no convenient handle.

I gave up on having a g-spot orgasm and moved my attention elsewhere. It felt incredible rubbing the spiral probe around outside, on my labia and especially on my clit, and ended my masturbation session with a good but not spectacular orgasm. I do not recommend this dildo for penetration, although I do wonder whether the different angles would make it better to use with a partner.

You can play with the temperature of this toy by running it under hot or cold water – personally, I like to start off cold and see how hot it gets when I'm done using it. Clean-up is also very easy, as you can rinse it with antibacterial soap or even run it through the dishwasher. All in all, the spiral probe is a beautiful toy but it fails to deliver the orgasmic dividends I would expect for the price.

  • It's definitely too straight for good G-spot stim., at least alone. I would think the ribs lend themselves to more friction, but too bad that didn't work for you. Nice review!

So it was just too thin basically? I don't know exactly why you thought you could get g-spot stim from it..

I have a similar glass dildo, and I've been experiencing similar issues - too straight! Before I give up in them completely, I'll try a curved one. Thanks for the honest review!
