The "Play Things Double Dong" is just a really big dildo. Thus it can be used for vaginal penetration, alone or with a partner. The partner could insert the opposite end in themselves for added kinkyness or they could just hold on to it and thrust for the receiver.

And it could also be used for anal play as long as you or your partner is holding on securely to the other end. There is no safety protection like a flared base to prevent it from sliding into the anal canal but since it's so incredibly long, as long as you have a good grip on it, I don't foresee it being sucked in so fast that you couldn't catch it.

This material is labeled as "pure skin" on the packaging. But I think that requires a lot more elaboration, especially for any new to the topic of sex toy materials and your health.

"Pure skin" is better explained as thermal plastic elastomer which is a composite of different materials to great a life-like and flexible toy. So this dildo does feel great. It's dual density as well which adds to its realness but also to its ease of insertion. It won't go all floppy and be difficult to insert but it still has a wonderful soft, squishyness to it.

What's the catch, you ask? Well, there is always a catch to these materials. Unforunately, this dildo is extremely porous so it's difficult to clean under the best of circumstances. And the worse, it's completely impossible to sterilize. So once you use this toy, it will forever harbor some small percentage of bacteria or particles from whatever orifice you inserted it into. So I'll say it now, even though you've probably heard it before, don't share this toy with anyone you're not "fluid-bonded" with. And do not use this dildo vaginally if you, even once, used it anally. If you wish to break either of these rules, use a condom before hand and continue to do so.

But back to the good stuff! I do really like how this material feels. And I have to confess that I'm a bit of a material snob and rarely get anything other than silicone, plastic, or glass. But this dildo made me realize that just because it's harder to take care of doesn't make it less desirable. I am converted!

The dual density component of this dildo is what really won me over. It's not overly soft or squishy and doesn't stretch ridiculously like rubber. And surprising, there's not too much of a smell to it either. The light odor is completely masked when I use flavored, water-based lubricant with this toy. So I believe this dildo could be enjoyed by beginners, advanced users, and everything in between as long as they're willing to take proper precautions.

When I first received this assignment, I was really unsure about using a double-ended dildo. I was especially unsure of the material, I was unsure about the size, I was unsure about the weight. So I admit it: I was unsure.

And with good reason. This dildo is pretty hefty, outweighing my glass dildo and rabbit put together. And definitely has a decent floppiness to it, much more than any silicone toy or dildo I own. That can make control a bit difficult for anyone like me who is using a double-ended dildo for the first time. (A traditional double-ended dildo, not something like the Feeldoe which is much more rigid even though it's heavy too).

The diameter of this monstrous duo is almost 2-inches on the penis-like end and fluctuates between about 1¼ inches and 1¾ inches on the bulbous end. So both are very girthy too and certainly not for penetration-beginners. But size queens rejoice because both ends will definitely fill to satisfaction if that's your poison!

But for everyone else? Proceed with caution. In fact, I couldn't comfortably insert the penis-like end at all. There was no gradual tapering to allow for easy insertion and was just so thick! Not to mention I had to balance the weight of the other end awkwardly to do so. It just wasn't a turn on to wrestle with this thing. The bulbous end was a bit easier but still not my thing with its dramatic bulbs and dips rather than a gentle ripple.

And I measured the length to check the dimensions on the product page and yes it's 16 and a half inches long! Holy double dildo, Batman! So, no, this is not discreet and certainly not travel friendly. "Is that a giant dildo in your suitcase or are you just happy to see me?"

The performance for this beginner to such a massive double-ended dildo was not much to speak of. In fact, the furthest we got in this play of sorts was Act I in which my main line was "Wow, this is heavy and big - Owwww... Ok, stopping now."

But to be honest, if you're someone used to very heavy or very long or very awkward dildos, the size probably won't be an issue. I certainly used to think my Feeldoe was gigantic but I eased into it quite nicely once I mastered how to handle it. But with the weight, length, and, girth working against me here, it just wasn't going to happen.

Perhaps if this toy was just a bit more lightweight, no other features of this toy would have to be compromised. The size queens (and kings!) wouldn't have to give up the girth and the partner-playing, double-penetrators wouldn't have to give up length in order to make this double dildo controllable.

So we've come to the less fun part of any sex toy: How to care for it. Well, to keep this double dildo happy, you'll have to be willing to live with its high maintenance nature. As mentioned above, it can not be sterilized and requires cleaning both before and after each use. I even recommend using both warm water and soap after a good antibacterial toy cleaner. Can't be too careful. (Though let me say that washing this thing in a small bathroom sink is quite the undertaking. Use a larger sink or even a shower if you're likely to make a huge water mess all over the place.)

Also, if you wish to keep the material from becoming tacky or sticky, you might need to occasionally store it with a light sprinkling of cornstarch. Yes, I know that's a food item, but it'll help maintain the softness of the skinlike material. And that's exactly what we want, yes? Also, be sure not to use TALC in place of cornstarch. It's been linked to cervical cancer (Yikes!). You may google that for more motivation to stay away from sticking that stuff in your private bits.

So after it's cleaned and powdered, you'll want to store it in a cool, dry place. Unlike pure silicone, this stuff can melt. But also its porous material could encourage molding and other microbial growth if it's stored wet. And remember not to place it in direct contact with other toys, especially of similar material. This will have a tendency of picking up dye color.

And the easiest step of all is lube. Just use only water-based lubricant with this massive double-dick as silicone, oil, and petroleum-based lubes may damage the surface material of the toy.

I'm personally storing mine in it's original plastic molding because the whole thing is just too huge to stick in a plastic bag to protect it and my other toys from each other. It may not be the most convenient, but it comes with the toy and is easy to do.

The packaging is the basic clam-shell type molded plastic - only a lot bigger! My major concern was the fact that when I received the product, the first thing I noticed was that the packaging wasn't sealed. In fact, it was already open and just barely staying closed. There were two small pieces of tape on either side that used to hold the plastic shut but they appear to have been tampered with or dried up or something. So I washed my toy extra well and sprayed it down with antibacterial toy cleaner before use. You can never be too careful.

But either way, the packaging is minimal but fine. You can see the entire toy inside and it's very large so it's not discreet at all. And all the information available is on the packaging itself, nothing extra is included. And I have to say that this dildo has very little information on it compared to some other Cal Exotics toys I've received. There is no detailed explanation of the material used other than it is realistic and dual density. And that really doesn't explain a lot to people who may be new to the realm of sex toy materials and health safety issues.

I don't think this toy has completely turned me off double-ended dildos. I just know that for me I need to start smaller and definitely lighter. I got a workout simply finding a position to hold this over-a-foot-long monster.
