Lucid dream shape No.9 by Doc Johnson - review by Dove

Let me begin by saying I am not a fan of realistic looking dildos or strap-ons, and this one is anything but! This harness/dildo set comes packaged in a shoe box sized cardboard box. The box contains the dildo and the harness, each in a separate plastic bag.

Upon opening the box, I was extremely surprised at the dildo's color. Granted, in the picture, the color does look very hot pink, but in real life it was even more so. It almost seemed to glow, the color was so bright. The dildo is also semi-transparent, and the light passing through makes the color even more vibrant. The dildo did have a plastic-y smell out of the box, but that smell mostly went away with a few washes. Since the toy is PVC, it can be washed either with soap and water or a sex toy cleaner. The toy is also slightly sticky to the touch, which is a little uncomfortable if not well lubricated with lube or natural juices.

The harness is black, with a fake leather-like material over the front and back. (It is not a thong harness.) The inside is lined with a soft felt-like material. The crotch is open, and the straps on the side are very adjustable. (The straps are the pull through kind, like you might find on a backpack.) I would estimate the harness goes up to about 40 or so inches, but that is just an estimate. One slightly annoying thing is that the pull-through straps can be pulled all the way through, in which case you have to re-thread the straps into the buckle.

The dildo has a black, square base with four snaps. The harness has matching snaps, and to use the dildo, all you have to do is snap it into the harness. This makes it EXTREMELY easy and quick to put together in the heat of the moment. (There are few things worse then being ready to get down to business then having to fiddle with a dildo and harness.) Additionally, this configuration means that the dildo doesn't wobble around when attached to the harness.

For use, my partner said she found the harness extremely comfortable. She is not a fan of thong harnesses, and said this one was a lot more comfortable and avoided the much dreaded wedgie.

It is also worth noting that the dildo and harness are part of the Doc Johnson vac-u-lock set, so any other one of their vac-u-lock dildos can work in this harness. This was great news for me, because then I can save money on future harnesses.

The toy is slightly larger than I expected, coming in at a diameter of just over 1.5 inches. I would estimate this to be a little bit over three fingers. Because it does have a flared base, it could be used for anal play, though it is on the large side. The tip of the dildo tilts up to better hit the g-spot, and the middle of the base has four lumpy ridges for texture. Since the ridges are wide, it doesn't just feel like lots of little bumps are chafing your insides. For lube, you can use either a water or silicone lubricant. We opted to go au natural, but since the toy is relatively big, I imagine using a lube would be helpful for a lot of people.

If you are sharing between partners, or using for both vaginal and anal insertion, you should use a condom, which fits easily over this dildo.

The toy is firm but slightly bendy, which is my ideal for a dildo. You won't get that super hard feeling that you'd get with a metal or glass dildo, but this one is by no means limp. I would more describe it as slightly flexible. The toy is also relatively long, with an insertable length length of 7in. I found this length and this amount of flexibility to be perfect for me. I do wish, however, that it came with a vibrating attachment.

All in all, I really enjoyed the experience of using this dildo and harness set. The harness got rave reviews for how comfortable it was from my partner, and we both enjoyed how firmly yet easily the dildo attached to it. The dildo itself was not only aesthetically pleasing, but was also well designed, with its bent tip and mid-shaft ridges. I really liked the feeling of fullness this dildo gave me, and my girl could thrust as hard and fast as she wanted, without the harness getting uncomfortable.
