Anal Merry-Go-Round

While we both enjoy the feel of the Colt Rotating Beaded Probe we haven't enjoyed the cleanup and having to condom cover. It also has proven a little big just because of it's inflexibility. Including vibrations would have improved the overall design and making the toy waterproof would give it an extra star. Only because it's something a little different will we keep it in our collection.

Use

The Colt Rotating Beaded Probe is an insertable toy that can be used either vaginally or anally but seems to be marketed towards male backdoor pleasure. I've got news for them, women can enjoy this thing too!
Designed with a different take on probes, rotating beads provide the pleasure instead of vibration sensations and it definitely does feel unlike anything we've butt stuffed before. Anyone interested in this toy will need to understand that it's large and beginners should not take this thing lightly. It also isn't flexible so don't intend on taking the entire length without risking internal damage. If sharing is your intention be ready to shell out extra money on condoms to cover this probe because the material is not able to be sterilized and bacteria could easily hide out on the toy. Whether alone or with a partner there are lots of ways to have fun with the Colt Rotating Beaded Probe.

Material / Texture

Straight out of the packaging the Colt Probe smelled very off-putting and seemed to be covered in a layer of oil almost like the ball bearings had been greased up during manufacture and then leaked out from beneath the PVC covering. Our initial thoughts where that there was no way this toy was going inside us. A thorough washing really did wonders to clean this big fellow up and the oily, chemical odor almost completely disappeared. The PVC construction of the first half of the toy is very smooth but loves to attract lint so it must be rinsed off and dried with lint-free towels before use. Silicone would have been a much better choice but probably couldn't be used because of potential issues with the rotating action or possibly Colt tried to save a couple bucks when making this toy. The rest of the probe is hard, inflexible plastic with the controls/handle having raised lines to aid in grip during use. Other than the see-through section of PVC covering the beads the entire toy is black (every girl should have a big black toy!) and it does have a lovely shine to it.
Remember that the PVC is porous and if you plan on sharing be sure to cover this beaded bad boy with a condom to prevent bacteria transfer either between partners or orifices.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this anal toy is really its attraction because it's different than most ass insertables. The two sections of rotating beads are what puts this probe in a category all it's own and we'll give Colt kudos for trying a new direction. It has a realistic cock head at it's tip that is 1 1/2" long and about 1 3/4" wide for some decent sphincter stretching. The next 3 1/2" of PVC covers up two separate sections of rotating steel beads that spin at both high and low speeds. While the beads merrily go around the cock head also gyrates in an elliptical circle that is almost comical to watch. Both these effects can be felt and are pleasurable. A total of 8 1/2" of the product is insertable but we were both unable to take this entire length because the shaft is not flexible. The PVC section is only the first 5" of it's length and after that it's hard plastic that is completely unyielding. The lack of any flexibility makes taking the whole probe uncomfortable at best and in our opinion impossible because of our anatomies despite copious amounts of lube. The bottom 2 1/2" of the Colt Rotating Beaded Probe house the controls and batteries and give the user a hand hold that is easy to grasp. It's appears that the weakest point of this toy is where the PVC is joined to the hard plastic shaft and, while it hasn't happened yet, it will be the place where the toy tears rendering it useless.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Controls for the probe are very simple and consist of three white buttons, ON/OFF, LOW SPEED, HIGH SPEED and a little red light to let you know the power is on. Turning the toy on also begins an even lower speed rotating action so technically there is another function. While the two sections of beads spin happily around and around the cock head of the probe also traces circles and this can be felt internally even more than the beads. It really is quite delightful and is the saving point of the toy. The best description I can think of is an auger (not Ogre!) screwing itself into the ground and every spin seems to help drive the probe deeper into the body. Even with this effect it isn't enough to make at least these fairly experienced anal players take the entire monstrous length. There are no vibrations included and that would have been a nice addition to give even more pleasure to the nether regions. Placing the setting on high basically doubles the rotation speed and we have tended to keep the power on full rotate because it does feel quite good. The rotating action can be stopped with your hand if you give the beaded section of the shaft a hard squeeze but the power is still ample when inside the body unless you have a sphincter of steel. You will go through batteries quickly and the three new AA's we put in lasted only about 20 minutes during our first use. We've since switched to rechargeable batteries just because we happen to have quite a few toys that take them! Noise isn't excessive during operation and someone standing outside the bedroom door wouldn't be able to hear this probe.

Care and Maintenance

The material and construction of this toy makes for a royal pain when it's time for clean up. The PVC rubber can't be sterilized and the joint where the PVC meets the hard plastic is just asking for bodily fluids and lube to hide there. It's also not waterproof and if lubed hands touch the controls good luck on cleaning around the push-buttons without damage. Extra care must be taken to ensure the PVC section of the probe doesn't rip or tear rendering it useless or filling your bed with steel balls.
For lubricant we recommend water-based but silicone lube can also be used with the Colt Rotating Beaded Probe as material compatibility isn't an issue. During storage ensure that other toys are kept away from contact as the black PVC could stain your other prized investments. A separate area or zip-lock bag is recommended. Also keep a good supply of batteries on hand because this sucker is an energy pig and we only got about 20 minutes of run time on what were fresh, brand name Duracells.

    • Hard to clean

Packaging

Once again Colt has used their standard fold over clam shell type packaging. Our recycling men must wonder about all the phallic molds that find their way into the bin each month! The plastic is clear so the product can be seen from all sides. Information provided is almost non-existent with the exception of a small insert at the top of the package stating the name of the probe and the fact that it has 'heavy-duty' metal beads. We would not use the container as a storage box because it's just too darn bulky and would take up valuable toy storage area real estate.

    Really great review, ToyingCouple.

I've always been curious about how the rotating beads in the jack-rabbit style vibrators felt, and I've always wished they'd make one without a clit attachment. Looks like I've found it!

It's a bummer about the material being porous, though.

Thanks for the review! You answered all my questions; I was wondering whether the rotating beads and head could be stopped with your hand, as I tend to... well, squeeze, when things get good. ^^U

Jenyana....You'd have to have hands of steel to stop the rotation, it takes a mighty good grip and I doubt if anyone has those kind of nether region muscles!
