JO for women premium lubricant - lubricant discontinued by System JO - review by Howells

This lube is aimed at women and somehow it lasts longer and feels better when used by them. We use it for sex and foreplay on her. I tried it for solo masturbation and it was nothing extraordinary for a guy, so I won’t be using this as a jack-off lube. However, it felt like a different lube when I used it on my girlfriend!

Before use I didn't believe it could be so different for women, because it's just silicone after all and it has the same ingredients as the System JO premium lubricant which lacks the "for women" tag. Who knows? It's made of only four ingredients (Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethiconol, and Dimethicone). It's free of many nasty chemicals that are unwanted by your body. I'll call this lube pure.

I haven’t used it in the shower. However, you can get rid of it with body wash or soap, though I didn’t feel the need to go to the bathroom just to remove the lube. It’ll be fine until the next time you have your regular bath or shower.

I’ll have to avoid using this with silicone toys. This always gets mentioned, but people rarely talk about that sometimes you can use them together. Here is a lube compatibility workshop where you can get more info on this topic.

I could compare its effect to massage oils even though I wouldn't use it for massages, because there are better, actual oils to use. The lube itself is thinner than massage oils are, but the effect is roughly the same. It turns your skin velvety and smooth. The key difference between a water-based lube and this is that it somehow enhances the surface of the skin, rather than just sitting on it until it evaporates. It's hard to explain, but water-based lubes can be too slippery if used in large amounts. With this, using any amount won't make you extra slippery. Actually, its role in my opinion is just to moisturize. I like a tiny bit of friction in vaginal sex, or else I feel less. This lube ensures everything will go smoothly but it won't make the whole world slippery. It looks like your skin absorbs it, but not so fast as it would do a body lotion.

The best surprise is that it really doesn't become sticky! I always just think it would (maybe because I'm used to the stickiness of certain water-based lubes), but then I try it and it just isn't sticky at all. After use, it behaves exactly as if you have been massaged with oils.

It doesn't have a smell or taste, mainly because it doesn't contain any fragrance or flavoring. I have a thing against silicone in my mouth. It just feels unnatural. It's not unpleasant, but I don't like the thought of it. You can still use it while oral though. This is something that I'll only know when I’ve used it for a longer time. It lasted for a good 30 minutes during foreplay on her. It probably would have lasted longer but I just added some extra when we finished foreplay and started having sex. Generally, it doesn't need reapplication because it's kept on by the woman's juices. I'd say it lasts at least three times longer than my water-based lube (Durex Warming).

It just comes in a bottle, no special box other than the shipping box with brown paper.

The bottle is tall. It’s pink and silver, that sort of resembles a frosty glass. It has a modern feeling because of the fonts used in the design.

It does not leak at all! I store it in a horizontal position in my drawer. The pump has a removable cap to avoid accidental dispensing and to keep the pump clean from dust. The only weakness is that the pump gets out a ridiculously small amount! At least it won't run out so fast and you won't end up with too much lube, but come on! I have to press at least five times to get some useful amount. I think it's really aimed at those who'll only use a drop on the clit, then that's it. You need more for fingering and sex. My advice is to dispense a good amount during foreplay then you won’t need to deal with pumping and trying to get more during sex, because everything will be in place by then.

The best part is how it feels on the clit. Previously her own juices washed off the water-based lube leaving the clitoris too exposed to drying and I always feared that I might hurt her. If it feels like it's just watery, it's no good. With this, the clit gets coated with an oily surface that doesn't get diluted by her own lubrication. In addition, when she shakes I could maintain my finger on her clit, rather than slipping off and having to 'find it' again. I got no problems with that, but maybe it's better if I don't need stop for a brief reposition.
