But it matches my iPod!

Cute isn't everything. This is a great toy to look at, and it has some good features, but its overall performance was pretty disappointing.

Use

Okay... I admit it. I bought this toy because (a.) it was pink, and (b.) the wheel-style control reminded me of an iPod. Traditional vibrators have never really done it for me, but I haven't given up yet. I've really enjoyed Doc Johnson's toys in the past, so I decided to give Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams a spin.

This is a jelly vibrator with a swirled texture, intended primarily for internal use (although, like all traditional vibrators, it can also be used for clitoral stimulation). I tested it vaginally and clitorally, as this toy lacks the flared base necessary for safety during anal play. Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams performed best during internal use, and although it didn't ultimately do the trick for me, I might recommend it to someone who prefers gentle stimulation; or a beginner looking for a good-sized toy. Also, Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams isn't loud at all, so it could be an option for someone looking for a larger discreet vibrator.

Material / Texture

Visually, this is a very appealing toy. It's cute! As jelly toys go, Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams is among the better ones in terms of quality. It lacks the sticky, "gummy" quality of cheaper toys; although it is a little more firm than I personally like. It also doesn't have a lot of flexibility to it. The material does have a distinctive scent, but it's not overpowering, and I found that the scent faded with use. The swirled texture adds very pleasant stimulation during vaginal use.

Design / Shape / Size

Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams is 8 1/2" long, with an insertable length of 6", which was more than enough for me. The 1 3/4" diameter was also great for my taste, although it might be a little big for someone new to sex toys (depending on your preferences, of course!). The toy's straight design and width made it pretty much impossible for me to hit my G-spot, although not for lack of trying. The texture does give it a little more "kick" than a smooth vibrator, but overall, there's not much out of the ordinary here in terms of design.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Unfortunately, Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams did not perform as well as I was hoping. There are three levels of vibration, none of which were anywhere close to being strong enough for me. The vibrations are located in the tip of the toy, and aren't distributed very well. This toy takes 2 AA batteries, which doesn't seem like sufficient power for a vibrator of this size. I used brand-new batteries, but still didn't get the power I was looking for. I like a lot of stimulation, and this toy just wasn't intense enough for me.

The dial base is convenient and very easy to use. This vibrator is described as waterproof, so I decided to test that claim. After a long bath and repeated submersion, I'm happy to report that Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams can indeed be safely used during water play. It's also a quiet toy, for its size: even at the highest level of vibration, it can't be heard through a closed door.

Care and Maintenance

Like all jelly toys, Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams picks up dust and fibers very easily, and the material is prone to breakdown. I find it best to store in a plastic bag, and clean with water and toy cleaner before and after each use. Because this toy contains phthalates, which are released during material breakdown, use with a condom is highly recommended. Also, jelly is extremely porous and impossible to sterilize, so if you're planning to share this toy, a condom will definitely be required. The material is compatible with all types of lubricant.
Follow-up commentary
Unfortunately, this one ended up being thrown out pretty quickly. It was okay while it lasted, but the material started to break down within a couple of months (despite being used with condoms), and the surface of the toy developed a very gritty, sticky texture. The last time I used it, the Mckenzie's Sweet Dreams died before I got anywhere near orgasm, which I took to be a sign. I threw it out, and replaced it with a similar, more materially-safe vibe of higher quality.

Regrettably, the new toy wasn't quite as cute.
