First time softee lover - traditional vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Jobthingy

Well aren't you a strange one Mr. Softee Lover. A very traditional, very stick straight, very loud, hard plastic vibrator covered with a removable, squishy, sticky, TPE sleeve.

Let's start with the specs. Without the sleeve, the toy is 5.5 inches long with an insertable length of 4.5 and a 0.75 inch diameter. Just a wee little thing that is straight as an arrow. After you fumble with the sleeve to get it on and in place, you will see that your wee toy has grown. It is now 6 inches long with an insertable of 5, and a diameter (at its widest point) of 3.5. The sleeve has some raised swirls over it that, I assume, are supposed to give it pleasurable texture. The squishy nature of the sleeve makes it nearly impossible to feel this texture during use.

The toy runs on 2 AAA batteries that are inserted into the base. It is controlled by a twist dial cap that is supposed to gradually increase in speed. To get the gradual increase, you really have to turn it slowly, and gently. When you do this, you may feel a variation of 2 speeds. Otherwise, if you just turn it on as you naturally would with this type of toy, it goes right to its highest setting and doesn't go any further.

Without the sleeve, this toy is loud - like cell phone vibrating on a glass tabletop loud. Yeah, you know that sound. It is crazy. Slide the sleeve on and it helps to really muffle that noise out. The motor is located at the tip and gives off steady, buzzy, low-medium level vibration that would be great for someone that is new to vibrators or reacts to the slightest of vroom. Naturally, the sleeve diffuses the vibrations.

This toy is waterproof and so you can play in or out of water. It also makes clean up a little easier. Take the 2 pieces apart, wash them with warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner, and let it air dry. You will want to wash the sleeve before and after use because it will collect everything in its path. It feels like those gooey hands that you could get as a child from those 25 cent machines at the grocery store. You know, you would fling them at the wall and they would stay in place. Yeah, those. So any dust particle or cat hair that may be around clings to it like a magnet. On a lighter note, if you can't find your lint brush, this will work - just roll it on your shirt and blammo! Lint is gone. Please remember that if you intend to share this toy, TPE is porous so it would be wise to use a condom.

Getting the sleeve on and off is a bit of a pain. Because it is so sticky, it really clings to the plastic. I tried putting a small drop of lube (water or silicone based are both safe for this type of material) in the sleeve to make things easier. This trick worked for removing the sleeve, but made it impossible to turn the toy on and off. There is no grabbing room at the base so you have to hold the shaft with one had and turn the base with the other. The, now slippery sleeve, just rolls around.

This one fell short for me. Just not enough power. I tried it both internally and externally and either way, it was a tease and that is about it. Not to mention the strange, sticky texture of the sleeve just sort of weirds me out. If you are the type that does not need a whole lot of power to get off, this one just might do it for you. Otherwise, you will want to look elsewhere.
