Use

The ChrisCross is probably one of the coolest toys I've ever seen. A large, funky, neon green vibrator with some very unique texturing, it's quite a sight to behold. It's mostly intended for use as an internal vibrator, but may also be used externally on the clit, nipples, and any other erogenous zones you may have. I would not recommended that you use this toy anally however, due to its size, as well as the lack of a flared base. The motor is surprisingly quiet, making this a superb product for those with children or roommates. The ChrisCross is probably not your best bet for beginners, given its girth & texture. However, I believe intermediate to advanced users will greatly enjoy this interesting piece from JoyDivision.

Material / Texture

The ChrisCross is made of gorgeous lime green Silicone, which is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, and both phthalates and latex free. The battery compartment is plastic, as well as the dial, which features ridges all around it for easy gripping. Both materials are both odorless and tasteless. Unfortunately, as silicone's go, this is a particularly magnetic one. It attracts hair and dust and all other manner of crap like an efficient air purifier. The silicone is firm and solid and feels somewhat like a bouncy ball. Because of this, you're going to experience a large amount of drag while in use. As if the density wasn't enough, this beautiful green mammoth also features a sexy spiral of texture-- half smooth, and half bumpy. It's definitely not for the faint of vag.

For the following reasons, I would not recommend this for a beginner. Intermediate? Perhaps. Advanced? HECK YES!
    • Bumpy
    • Dense
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The ChrisCross is 8 1/4" long, 7 1/4" insertable, and 1 5/8" in diameter. Its body consists of a spiraling blend of half smooth, half bumpy texture, ending in a gently curved tip. It reminds me a bit of a caterpillar, or the end of a dragon's tail. It really doesn't appear overwhelmingly large at first glance, but the combination of its generous size, extreme texture, and the heavy drag of the silicone all conspire to make this toy more than meets the eye. It's pretty easy to underestimate at first; do not make the same mistake I did in doing so. The ChrisCross is by no means suitable for a beginner. If you dare to take this toy for a ride, be sure to have the patience of a saint and a well stocked lube supply to back you up.

This vibe is touted as a g-spot capable toy, which I can attest it very much is. As I mentioned before, it does feature a lovely curve towards the tip, but I don't credit this portion of the design with the ChrisCross' ability to excel at stimulating that special spot. The real reason I believe it's so successful at hitting its mark is the girth and texture this toy has to offer. The size alone means there's practically no way of avoiding your g-spot while using this internally! Honestly, you can't miss. The only issue then becomes being able to handle the size and texturing. If you can stick it out, you'll be rewarded with delicious, deep vibrations that seem to permeate the very walls of your vagina. If not, then hey, it's always excellent as a clitoral vibe!

Functions / Performance / Controls

The ChrisCross runs on 2 AA batteries which are inserted in the bottom of the toy. Merely twist off the black ridged cap, insert batteries, and twist it back on. Unlike many vibrators which feature a designated on/off button, the ChrisCross is controlled via a dial on the base of the cap. The dial is a light gray, making it easy to discern from the rest of the cap. Twisting the dial slightly turns it on, activating the lowest setting. If you continue to twist, the vibrations will grow incrementally stronger until you reach the highest setting. The dial was very easy to use, even while my hands were slippery with lube, and made switching between intensities easy, as I didn't have to scroll through the settings to get to the one I wanted.

The ChrisCross emits deep, penetrating, buzzy vibrations. The vibrations can be felt along the entire shaft of the toy, but are, of course, much more diffused near the base. The vibrations are the strongest in the top 1/3 of the vibrator, where I assume the motor is likely located. The vibrations are fairly strong at their highest setting, and when used internally, the bumpy texturing and girth seem to intensify the sensation. What's really neat about this toy though is how quiet it is. The loudest level it ever achieves is a soft hum, which sounds a lot like a vibrating phone. It can't be heard from behind closed doors, and through covers, it's about a 50-50 chance whether someone notices or not.

Among its attributes, the ChrisCross is listed as being splashproof. What this means is that it will survive shower-time activities, and being submerged under running water (for instance while cleaning). A small o-ring on the inside of the cap aids in keeping water out of the battery compartment, and I have to say, it does a pretty dang good job! The CC and I have taken many a shower-time excursion together, and every time the o-ring has stood up to the challenge. However, while this toy is splashproof, it is likely not completely waterproof. I haven't tested this theory myself, and I don't particularly urge you to either. Bottom line: The ChrisCross can't swim. Don't submerge it.

Care and Maintenance

When it's time to clean up, antibacterial soap and warm water should suffice. If you feel like you need a deeper cleaning, wipe down with a 10% bleach solution to properly disinfect it. Do NOT boil this toy or stick it in the dishwasher as it is a vibrator, and doing so will likely damage it. Because of its magnetic properties, I suggest cleaning before and after each use, so as to avoid getting dust, dirt, and pet hair in your private parts. When (not if, WHEN) you reach for the lube, be sure to use only water-based lubricants on this toy. Avoid the use of silicone lubricants as the ChrisCross itself is made of silicone, and using a silicone based lube will likely degrade the material. If silicone lubes are all you've got on hand, be sure to test it on a small patch of the toy (preferably near the base) before liberal use.

Packaging

I no longer possess the packaging that the ChrisCross originally came in, but I do recall it was some kind of silver, shiny box with a viewing window. It was kind of an eyesore, and there's honestly no way it could've been considered discreet. It came with a set of instructions, from what I remember, and a small sample of lubricant. Included with your toy is a silver colored satin pouch in which to store it. This is where mine now rests.

Personal comments

I'm really torn between loving and liking this toy. All of the things that make it great are simultaneously all of the things that leave me hesitating when reaching for this vibe. The texture, the drag, the size, and the power of the vibrations all make for a very unique, mind-blowing sexual experience. However, the texture, the drag, and the size also mean a lot of preparation, patience, and, in some cases, frustration. When I look at this green spiral of doom I think, "Amazing orgasms await me.. if I'm willing to wait and take it slow." And sometimes, to be honest, I just don't have the tolerance for it. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the ChrisCross is somewhat of an acquired taste.
