Pantyhose discontinued
by Leg Avenue

Caught you in my net

Leg Avenue's Fence Net Pantyhose with Boy Short Lace Top are certainly sexy and comfortable, if they fit you. Their quality isn't the greatest (nor the absolute worst), and I personally feel that they are a just a tad overpriced for what they are.

extremely useful review
Leg Avenue's Pantyhose with boyshort top are described as a fence net pantyhose with boy short lace top. They are available in OSFM and Plus (I will be reviewing the Plus). Leg Avenue's size chart lists their One Size items as fitting sizes 6 to 11, and 1X/2X (Plus) as fitting 16 to 24. The net pantyhose are only available in black and are 96% Nylon, 4% Spandex. They should be hand washed in warm water, using only non-chlorine bleach when needed, and drip dried (do not iron).

Front of package
Back of package
The product comes in a simple, basic hosiery packaging - a piece of cardboard slipped into one of the legs with the rest wrapped around it, inside a cardboard folder bearing a photo of the plus size model on front and back with the name of the product, size, material, and care instructions, all inside a plastic "envelope" bag.

Right out of package
Boy short portion
Right out of the package, the leg netting measures 28" (unstretched) from leg hole to bottom seam. The lace top measures 13" flat across (unstretched) and 8" (unstretched) down the middle to the bottom of crotch. There is one seam through the middle of the lace top and the leg holes have an elastic in them with a small ruffle overhanging it on the outside. The netting is attached to this elastic on the inside of the leg hole. The leg hole itself stretches to a flat 14" across and the lace top stretches to a flat 20" across. (In the last photo of the lace top, it appears red, but the whole thing is black - that's just my camera picking up the shine of the lace top.)

In the above photos, you can see the seam that runs through the middle of the lace top (there is no crotch liner) and the seam at the bottom of the netting (there is no reinforced toe or heel). The third picture shows the netting string attached to the leg hole elastic, followed by a shot of the netting on my arm and the basic floral lace pattern of the top.
Experience
Because Leg Avenue's size chart lists the plus as fitting up to a 26, I was really hoping that these would fit me. Sadly, they didn't quite make it all the way. I'm a size 20-22 (wearing a 7-8 panty size) and with 51" hips. After stretching out the boy short lace top to as far as it would go to measure it (and getting a 20" flat measurement - making it a 40" circumference), I knew before I tried to put these on that they wouldn't fit.

I did get quite a bit of stretch from the fence net to pull them all the way up my legs, but at the top of my thighs/crotch area, the netting was a bit tight and my flesh pushed unattractively through the fence net. The leg holes stretched for me, but I couldn't get the lace top fully up over my behind and over my hips. Also, stretching the leg holes to as far as they will go results in ripping some of the netting from the elastic inside that leg hole. While that doesn't completely damage the product and make them unwearable, it is something to be wary of. As you can see from the photo in the above section, the netting strings can be ripped or pulled from where they are attached if you are too rough on them (mine didn't completely rip or break, just some of the stitching ripped, leaving the netting "less attached" than what it was).

Overall, I think these are just a tad overpriced for the quality; $10 or under would be a better price point. There is no crotch liner, the stitching holding the netting to the top can easily be ripped, and these will not fit the mid to larger end of sizes listed on the size chart. Perhaps a smaller person will have less worries about ripping the stitching holding the net to the boy shorts, but one should still be careful of that. I feel that someone with a hip measurement of 40" and less and around a size 16 or less will fit better in these.

On the plus side, these aren't itchy or scratchy and were comfortable to wear (to where I could get them on). I was able to keep my toes from poking through the holes by not stretching that area too much. Though using LoriandHubby's awesome trick (mentioned in her review here) will help - simply slip on a pair of nude footies under the fence netting to prevent toes from poking out.
Follow-up commentary
I still don't really care for these. The quality isn't that great and any time I try to put them on, more and more of the threads break/rip.

I love these, but your review has made it clear that, for the price, they aren't the greatest quality, and I hate it when things aren't built for plus size women like myself. Thanks for reviewing.
