Pink gartered slip and thong - chemise discontinued by DreamGirl - review by MrsHouseWife

This is a two-piece Lingerie set, incorporating a under wired slip or chemise with garters and a g-string (though the DREAMGIRL call it a thong). I brought an XL because I know I have wide hips. Every day, I wear a comfortable 16 or a curvy 14. I am a DD and only five feet tall. I have a pear-shaped body, meaning I carry most of my weight in my hips and bum, but still have an hourglass curve to my torso.

G-String or Thong
There isn't much to say about the simple g-string. It won't be staying in my drawer after the review. It doesn't work as an everyday piece of underwear and doesn't look sexy on me, so I won't be keeping it.

A few specs on the garment: it is made up of 92% Nylon and 8% Spandex. The satin-like patch at the front that makes up the majority of the g string is 9 1/2 inches long (24cm) and 4 3/4 inches wide (12cm). The string that makes up the rest of the g string is 6 1/2 inches long (16 1/2cm) and just over a quarter inch wide. The waist band is 32 inches around (just over 81cm). The cotton-like hygiene section inside is a 1 1/4 inches at its widest point (3cm) and 3 1/4 inches long (8cm).

The stitching and seams are bulky; the tag is quite large for the size of the underwear and will need to be removed for comfort. It doesn't add to the "sexiness" of the combo and looks tacky by itself. On the up side, it doesn't cut or dig into my while I wear it.



Chemise or Slip

The Chemise or slip is made up of alternating satin and sheer pink fabric panels, under-wired bra cups, black lace trim around the edge of the bra and around the whole base of the chemise, there are also black bra straps and garter straps.

There are 24 hook and eye closures at the back, there is only one row of eye closures, so there is no way to adjust the chemise if you get the wrong size. The chemise is made up of 92% Nylon and 8% Spandex. To clean both garments hand wash in cold water and line dry.







Flaws
I noticed a few small flaws in the chemise in the stitching: a loose thread in seam between one of the two back panels, a black thread has been pulled through from incorrect tense on the seam for the hook and eye closures, and at the base where the lace meets the edge of the chemise, there are a few layers of noticeable pink stitching and a few stitches have come loose and has created about an inch gap between where the bind that holds the hook and eyes joins the chemise.



Packaging
The chemise and thong come on a sturdy black coat hanger and covered in plastic wrap. The coat hanger I will definitely keep and use in my wardrobe. The plastic wrap will go in the bin, as it isn't recyclable.



Care and Maintenance
I haven't yet washed the garment myself, but it suggests a cold hand wash and line dry. I would not bleach or tumble dry the chemise. I might try running it through on the hand wash or delicate cycle on my washing machine after a few wears. Even though the lace does have a frayed look to it, it is strong and quite well made and should hold up well in a washing machine.

This chemise definitely did not get the desired reaction. I know the frenzied response great lingerie can give my husband and this just wasn't doing it. The shape on me was wrong and the color washed out my skin tone. To be completely honest, because that is what Eden is about, putting on this chemise didn't even lead to sex, that is how unenticing it is on me.

This shape will work for you if you are shaped differently to me and more like the model. If you are looking for lingerie to hide bits you aren’t happy with, for me my lower stomach and hips, then steer clear of this set.

The sizing is pretty spot-on and it does fit overall. If I was to order again, I would order the same size.

This will most likely go in my lingerie drawer and won't come out again.
