I was very excited to receive the Extase La Métropole, but was a little shocked at how noisy the toy was on higher speeds. The noise is not terrible for someone living alone or with a partner, but if you need to sneak around to please yourself, or have children playing in another room nearby, they are almost certain to hear this vibrator. That being said, the vibrations are average and great for just about anyone. This is primarily a clitoral vibrator, and since there is not much length from the battery compartment to the end of the vibrator, I would not suggest this for insertion. It does, however, work well for stimulation of your nipples or if you just like a vibrating feeling against your anus (do not insert it though.) There is a great satin storage pouch that comes with this vibrator that makes it safe and hidden for travel.

The great thing about the La Métropole is that there is no smell, because this is an aluminum and plastic toy. Since the portion used for stimulation is plastic, it is body-safe and easy to care for and use for everyone. I have noticed, that even though the vibrator is plastic, there is some collecting of dust/lint. Be careful when using it. Dust or lint may not seem harmful, but if it is collecting on your vibrator, other harmful articles could be collecting too. Also, plastic and aluminum offer no squish, bend, or relief. This is a hard toy, keep that in mind when coming up with new ways to play or the pressure at which you use it. I clean before and after use.

The Extase La Métropole's design is very sleek. Its appearance is worth every penny. The controls are at the bottom and the LED indicator light is not distracting at all to me. The aluminum portion of the vibrator, which holds the battery and is the bottom half, is metallic and contains a very gorgeous swirl design. The plastic portion is slightly curved and an off-white color. The curved portion appears to possibly make this a vibrator for g-spot stimulation, but due to the small size of the vibrator and the location of the battery compartment, this is not a vibrator used for insertion. The slight curve helps to make this a very sleek and ergonomic vibrator.

The vibrations on the La Métropole can actually be felt stronger on the sides of the tip than the actual tip of this toy. However; I was able to achieve the best results by letting the curved portion of the vibrator rest on top of my clitoris during stimulation. This type of play still works well with the ergonomic design previously mentioned and puts little to no strain on the wrist or arm. During use, the stimulations are very easy to change. To start the vibrator, you just hold the control button down for two seconds. There are five settings of vibration. The first three are a steady vibration ranging from low to high, and the two remaining are pulsating vibrations, each of the same power, but with different patterns. When turning the vibrator off, there is a blinking indicator light that will let you know how much charge is left on your La Métropole. Three means you have full battery, two means the batteries are low, and I have not gotten to anything further because the La Métropole is GREAT on battery life. Even with the battery charge lowering, I am still able to get great stimulation from this vibrator.

The Extase La Métropole is, as mentioned before, plastic and aluminum, making it safe with any oil, water or silicone based lubricant you desire. It is not water-proof, but is splash-proof, making cleaning a little easier than with some other designs. There is actually a small rubber protection ring attached where the battery compartment closes. I usually use wipes when cleaning this toy just to be on the safe side, but you may want to take caution with the bottom of the toy where the LED lighted control button is. Otherwise, I think you will be fine when cleaning. So, there are some precautions to take when cleaning, but this is not a high-maintenance toy by any means. This also can be stored in the box it came in (which is very sturdy), or in the satin pouch that is included at the bottom of the box. Either way, I claim this to require cautious cleaning, but easy to store.

Extase La Métropole comes in a firm box, with a hard foam inlay for the vibrator and small product booklet. Under the inlay is an instruction manual along with a satin storage pouch. The instruction manual was very useful and includes information such as how to insert the battery, using, cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting, specifications, warranty information, and disposal information. All instructions include several languages for multi-national usage. This would be a great gift to anyone and it very affordable. Since the box is so firm, I don't see any issues with using this for gifting (not to mention, it is affordable) or as storage. However; you may also use the silk pouch if you need to cut down on the amount of space you are taking up or for travel.

I am a fan of the La Métropole by Extase, in fact I love it. It is fun to use and something a little different from my other clitoral vibrators. I enjoy the vibrations and have been selecting this vibrator over the many others in my collection. I have also used this with my boyfriend during foreplay and sex, and it operates beautifully. I did not go wrong in purchasing this and hope that it withstands the tests of time.
