Hefty powertool

This one would be good if you have thick walls or are home alone, but under any other living condition steer clear! It was painful for me to insert this, and even in the shower lube is a necessity. It will collect dust in my toybox because of these reasons, but if you can get over the noise and you think it will work for you, it feels like a very quality toy and has a pleasant price tag.

Use

This toy is intended to be used for both internal and external stimulation, but I found that its' forte lay in the external especially. I found that it was a bit painful and difficult to insert at first, and afterwards was only slightly stimulating to my G-spot.

Due to the long handle and slight flared base this would be okay to use analy, but may be quite difficult to get started. If you do, it would be wise to use a condom on it both for ease of cleanup and because the rubber is slightly porous!

I would not recommend this for beginners or for partner play because of both how tough it it to first insert it and how rigid it is. This makes it easy to hurt yourself if you aren't careful! It is not very travel friendly due to the size, but it does not pick up lint so it would be fine if you wanted to toss it into an overnighter.

This toy is waterproof and performs well in the shower. No water got into the battery compartment and the entire thing is very well sealed. I would suggest using some silicone lube on this even when in the shower just because if the awkward shape and raised nubs.

Material / Texture

This vibrator is made of rubber coated plastic, which is a bit of a bummer. This means that the plastic, which is normally nonporous and sanitary, was made porous by coating it in rubber. While plastic normally has an 8 out of 10 on the Eden safety scale, the rubber coat downgraded this to a 3 out of 10. Essentially this means that when using between partners or if you plan on using this both anally and vaginally you MUST use a condom! This is not safe, and can never really be thoroughly cleaned.

It is very velvety to the touch and has very little drag to it, but I still think that using it with lube would be a good idea. It had no smell out of the package and didn't retain any scents or tastes after use and washing. The texture is easy to work with and would be enjoyed by both beginners and advanced users, but I think that almost everyone will be disappointed with the 3 out of 10 safety rating.

This toy has no give at all to it and is very rigid. This means that beginners might find it more difficult to use if they don't know exactly what they want. Advanced users may appreciate this because it is easy to put the pressure where you need it, being internally or externally.

Design / Shape / Size

My biggest problem with the Illusion Want Passion lies in it's design; it just didn't do it for me. The wide, blunt tip is covered in raised nubs that do add a bit of texture to clitoral stimulation. My only qualm with that is that if you are sensitive in that area you may find the rigid nubs to be a bit unforgiving.

The problem comes when you want to insert this one. The broad tip and the harsh nubs make it go against insertion, and unless a lot of lube is used it's easy to scratch up your entrance. If the material had a bit more give this would be more pleasant and would make me want to use this toy much more than I currently do.

After insertion (and a bit of frustration) the nubs do little inside of you. The flared bits give a bit of an interesting sensation if you pop them in and out of you, but when fully inserted that are almost unnoticeable. It does make contact with my G spot, but I do not require much of a prominent curve in my toys. If you need firm pressure or a curved shape to hit you where you need it, this one isn't for you!

Measuring in at a total length of 7.5 inches, around 6.5 inches of this are fully insertable. It's a good 4.5 inches around at the widest part, but after the 'head' and after the two flared bits it dips in to around 2.5 inches around. It's a nice size for beginners, but advanced users that need a lot of girth will need to look elsewhere for a vibrator.

This is a toy that looks like a toy! If someone sees this on a nightstand you'd be hardpressed to pass it off as much other than a vibrator. It's easy to hide because it doesn't pick up lint or dust, but the size and color make it a bit difficult unless you have a specific hiding place for your toys.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This guy is LOUD! While it's better than my Slim Smooth Delight, it is the second loudest toy I own! This is NOT safe for dormitory living! It's pushing 3 bees, and I feel like it would be better rated as 4 bees. It can easily be heard over the showers, and if you listen can be heard through a closed door. Even if you have thin walls I would be wary of getting this one!

It's not my most powerful toy, but it does certainly have some oomph to it! It is powerful enough on the steady setting for some good clitoral stimulation and has four patterns after that. It only has one power setting, though, and that would be a bit high if you're just starting out playing with toys. I would recommend the power levels to a more moderate or advanced user.

One button on the bottom controls this toy, and I wish that it has a separate on/off button every time I turn it on! Keep in mind that if you suddenly need to quiet down this powerhouse you'll have to cycle through all of the remaining settings just to turn it off. It is not easy to press the button when you mean to, and it certainly won't change on you accidentally.

The vibrations are located mostly at the tip, but they can be felt through the entire toy. If you are using it for an extended period of time it may numb your fingers, so keep that in mind when shopping. Overall, this would be great for someone that didn't live in the dorms, play in the communal showers, and have a roommate!

Care and Maintenance

This is a pretty easy to care for vibrator! It's very smooth and is easy to wipe down or wash off. I use an antibacterial toy cleaner and then rinse it with water, but soap or wipes would also clean this off very easily. I store it without it's batteries in a cool, dark place.

Any type of silicone or waterbased lube would work with this one! I would recommend using silicone lube for shower play, because it's hard to enjoy this even in the shower without a lot of extra lubrication. As I said earlier, use a condom if you want to switch partners or orifices! The rubber is porous!

Packaging

This came in a clam-shell package that is not very nice to look at. It doesn't feel very quality, and it's pretty obvious what it is. I'm keeping mine in my packaging, but it takes up a lot more room than the toy itself. It has some basic information on the back and it tells you everything that you need to know.

I would not use this packaging as a gift unless I knew that the person already owned sex toys. It isn't very classy or feminine, and I would feel a bit cheap.

Experience

This was a disappointment to me in almost all aspects. The insertion was painful, it was a bit to powerful on it's one 'vroom' strength for clitoral stimulation, and by coating this in rubber they brought it down from an 8-out-of-10 to a 3-out-of-10 on the Eden Safety Scale. It's too loud for me to use in almost any situation, and the fact that you have to cycle through all five settings to turn it off makes the noise levels even more of an issue!

Unfortunately this one will collect dust in my toybox, but I'm glad that I was able to try this out and give thorough feedback on it. I've had more bad than good with California Exotics toys, and I would recommend looking for something more ergonomic if you're looking for a nice clitoral and insertable toy.

Dr and Mrs- I agree! And some that would be great for people not me! But it's not like I can give them to a thrift store or anything
