Isla has a unique shape and dual material texture that is very satisfying, elegant and sexy. I saw this in a store that we went into when on one of our trips and just HAD to have it--it is gorgeous!! Imagine my happiness when the vibrations and strength variations exceeded my expectations.

Isla is made of Lelo's body safe silicone and a light, metallic coated ABS Plastic core. The combination of the materials rates an 8 on the safety scale and the two textures together has a very pleasing feeling against your skin. The silky, velvety silicone has a minimal drag against your skin. It is very soft and velvety instead of being irritating and grabby like other silicone products. One huge plus--it does not grab hair and lint as much as softer silicones!

The plastic, concave center adds a cool, slick, feeling to the soft, velvety, silicone and the two materials and textures complement each other perfectly. I do recommend a dab of water based lube for your personal comfort. This lessens the friction and pull against your sensitive skin.

Isla is very beautiful and eye catching in a classy and elegant manner. The handle has a very ergonomic shape and the hole in the center allows you to gently maneuver it around with little strain to your hand and wrist. The shaft has a gentle and sloping curve that allows for effortless G-spot or clitoral stimulation. The rounded tip and rigidness of the vibrator makes placement and targeting easy and consistent.

Isla is an average sized vibrator, but has a narrow and smaller girthed shaft than many other similar designs. The length for insertion is about 5 3/4" and the total length is around 8 3/4". The diameter of the shaft ranges from 3/4" at the neck where it leaves the base, to 1 3/8" at the largest ares right behind the tip. The shaft is flattened on the sides and is concave with a rounded top and bottom. This is a wonderfully accessible and user friendly shape that will suit most people.

I love the shape and length, it is a great design and size for deep or shallow penetration, targeting the G-spot or other specific area and sensory exploration. The two materials are very complimentary, the silicone readily warming to your body temperature and the plastic keeps a light coolness which is amazing! I do enjoy placing this in ice water or very hot water for the added and sensual sensations!

As you can see, there are three extruded buttons for controlling the safety lock, vibration strength and patterns. These buttons are located under the silicone and are pressure sensitive. The lack of a seam or exposed button helps keep the Isla waterproof. I still do not recommend full submersion due to the open charging port on the tip of the base. (I have placed a small, rubberized ball of rubber cement over the port to ensure the waterproof factor when I know it may get wet.)

You need to unlock the Isla when you receive it, which is pretty easy and the process is the same for activating the lock. Press the - button and the + button in at the same time until the lights blink. Charging also releases the lock.

The + button closest to the base will turn the steady vibrations on. It also is used to increase them and there are 7 levels of vibration strength and six separate patterns. You activate the patterns by pressing firmly on the middle button, which has an eye shaped design in the center. The strength of the vibration patterns is the one selected prior to pressing the middle pattern button. You may adjust the strength while the patterns are going by using the + and - buttons. Turn it off by continuously pressing the - button until the light goes off and you are positive it is not vibrating.

The patterns are: 1.Steady vibration - 2.Steady, measured pulsation - 3.Faster, shorter pulses - 4.Rolling, up and down vibrations - 5.Light to strong graduating vibration - 6.High speed steady with random pulses.

Sometimes the buttons are a bit stubborn and you may not have pressed them hard enough to change the pattern or strength level. You may need to press it again. I have had no problem while changing levels during use, but have accidentally turned the level down while inserting the vibrator.

The initial charge is around 2-3 hours and the power lasts about 4 hours of high speed use. There is minimal sound and this is a great vibrator for dorm use or other noise sensitive situations. I love the strength and variation in power, this is a nice, penetrating vibrator that has light buzzy vibrations all the way to deeper, rumbly vibrations.

Wash the Isla carefully with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Let it air dry and then go back over it with a toy cleaner, I use Lelo Toy Cleaner since it is safe for the silicone and it also sanitizes the toy. I do not recommend drying this with a cloth, even though lint pickup is minimal, it will still grab a small amount from the cloth used. If the silicone starts to lose its velvety finish, rub a small amount of cornstarch into the silicone to firm it back up and preserve the velvety, luxurious material.

I store my Isla in the original packaging. It is Lelo's usual, high end, tasteful and discreet black box. There is an area for the Isla to nestle in, keeping it safe from other materials that would damage the silicone. Do not store this with other items since it could cause a chemical reaction and deteriorate the silicone making the vibrator unsafe for further use.

Traveling with Isla is a breeze. Set the lock so it will not accidentally start vibrating, make sure you have your charger and some lube and you are ready to go! You can take this in the original box, even wrap it like a gift if you would be more comfortable, and it will be completely discreet. You may also store it in the pouch Lelo provides, a tube sock or other means of protection.

Isla arrives with an informative slip on sleeve that is not discreet. Remove the sleeve to access the elegant, luxury packaging that Lelo is known for and that we all love. Hints & Tips:

--To effectively clean the indented seam between the plastic area and the silicone, I use a very soft bristled baby's toothbrush and go gently back and forth along the seam while washing this in soapy water.

--Do NOT submerge or get the charger contact hole wet. This will short out and ruin the Isla.

--For anal use, please tie an emergency removal cord securely to the hole in the bottom of the handle. This will prevent any emergency room visits if you get a bit too....greedy.

--To polish the metallic plastic, gently rub a chamois or microfiber cloth over the surface until it is gleaming.

--ALWAYS double check that the Isla is off, the lowest vibration setting is very subtle and can drain the vibrator without your noticing it is even on.
