Una Isla Bonita

Isla is a high quality, waterproof vibrator from Lelo. This was my first Lelo vibe, the only other toy I own from this company is Ella. I was attracted to this one as soon as it was released because the shape and the pretty turquoise and metallic color combination. This vibrator works for clitoral stimulation, nipple stimulation, g-spot stimulation, and also for regular vaginal stimulation. The handle would prevent it from slipping in too far if used for anal use, but this one is pretty firm so it was too large for me to use for this type of stimulation. I think everyone will enjoy this vibrator as long as you don't need Hitachi strength or buzzy vibrations.

Lelo's silicone is very smooth and it is fun to just stroke it. The fact that this one is nice and smooth makes it glide inside of me very easily and also feels nice when I rub Isla on my clitoris. There is not really any issue with this one collecting dust or lint, which is great! Silicone is hypoallergenic, phthalates free, and a great material. I don't know why this is, but there is a scent that can be detected when you hold this one close to your nose. Even after I have used it a bunch of times and washed it, I can still detect the smell. I am not sure if this is from the box (where I usually keep it) or the plastic that the silicone is covering. Because this toy is silicone over plastic, there is no give so this one is really firm, but the size keeps this firmness from being a problem.

I really enjoyed the design of this one. The loop at the end makes a great handle which is nice for when I want to apply strong pressure to my g-spot or to use whatever motions I choose. The buttons are positioned in a way near the handle that make it very easy to hit the buttons even when you are really enjoying yourself.

The bulge that makes up the "head" of the shaft, works for some nice g-spot stimulation. It hits mine every time I use it, but it is not in an intense way like the G-ki or Pure Wand. Even though it does not provide as intense g-spot stimulation as other toys, it is still highly pleasurable.

The Isla is a total of 8.5 inches in length, and 5.5 of those are insertable. It is a length that allows you to reach all the spots you want. When not focused on my g-spot, I like it when it is fully inserted. The diameter of the shaft is 1.38 inches at the widest point, that being the head and the rest of of the shaft is closer to and 1 1/8 inches in diameter. Isla won't make you feel full, but I think that it is a good size considering it is so firm. I think everyone can easily accommodate Isla, but it may require a little warm up.

When I opened the box and took Isla out the first thing I thought was how light it felt. This makes it easy to use for long periods of time without your arms getting tired.

Isla is controlled by a simple + and - button and a separate button that controls the patterns. To turn it on, hold the + button for a second or so. The vibrations start off very low, almost too low to feel, and then increase in intensity until they are very strong and easily felt. I think there are about 6 speeds, but one of them starts off so low that I'm not sure if that one really counts. The vibrations are nice and deep, which feels very nice on my clitoris, g-spot, and even my nipples. There are also a variety of patterns, two pulsing patterns, two escalating/roller coaster patterns, and a random pattern. The random pattern is different from most of my other vibrators and is strong. I can't orgasm from the other patterns, but the random one gets me really close, especially with some thrusting. One thing about Isla that I like is that the patterns (except for the random one) can be adjusted in strength with the + and - buttons.

To turn Isla off, simply hold the - button. I read in another review that someone had difficulty telling when one of the vibes from this new line was all the way off because the first pattern is so low and I have to say that I feel the same way. To prevent myself from accidentally leaving it on and draining the battery, I lock Isla after I use her by holding the + and - button down at the same time for about 5 seconds. The same thing is done to unlock it.

As I mentioned, the vibrations are nice and deep and can get pretty strong on the higher settings. The vibrations can be felt strongest in the tip, but travel well through the entire shaft. I was happy that although I can kind of feel the vibrations in the handle that they were not so strong that my hands went numb. I enjoy the lower settings for warm up and then use the higher settings for when I'm closer to orgasm. I find that on the highest and second highest setting, I get nice g-spot stimulation and don't have to move Isla for it to feel really good! It is always a plus when a vibe can do that for me. When on the highest setting and outside of the body this can be heard a little bit through the covers, but not a closed door. Once inside of the body, even at the highest level, it is hard to hear Isla. I like quiet vibes, even though I live alone, so this is a good thing.

The Insignia line is advertised as being waterproof. The only reason I am skeptical about submerging this one is because the instructions say not to get water in the charging port. One thing that has decreased my anxiety about this is the fact that the hole is covered in silicone and isn't open. It is like the charging plug has to push through in order for it to open up. I have used it in the shower with no problems.

A full charge takes about 2 hours and is supposed to last for 4 hours. I have not run it out completely yet, as I like to charge my toys before I think they will run out (so they don't die out on me in use) so I am not sure the exact amount of time it holds a charge. The light blinks when it is charging and then glows steady when it is done.

For the most part, it is very easy to keep Isla clean. I wash her in warm water and soap, toy cleaner doesn't work as well as running water when it comes to making sure the gap between the silicone and the plastic is clean. I know some people mentioned the concern with getting fluids out of the gap, but I find it pretty easy to take care of by cleaning it under running water and using a toothbrush to get anything else out (though this isn't always necessary).

I like my pretty Lelo box, so I keep Isla in there, but I can see that as my collection is quickly growing, I will have to move her to the satin bag that is included so I can have more room.

Silicone toys should be used with water based lubes only. Isla was way too expensive for me to even consider spot testing, so I will stick to my Maximus lubricant.

Isla comes packaged in a cardboard box that has a very pretty picture of Isla on the front. Inside of this box, is the harder Lelo box that has Isla in a fitted cut out on the top. Next to the Isla, is a pin with the Insignia line design. The side has a little flap that can be lifted up and this is where you will find the charger, warranty info, 10 year guarantee info, and the instructions. Under the form fitted part there is a black satin storage pouch, in which Isla fits very nicely. As I mentioned, I keep Isla in the box (I use her a lot though) for storage, as it is perfect for that.

I really like Lelo packaging and think it would make a great gift. If discretion is needed, then maybe removing the outer cardboard box prior to giving this to someone might be best.

I am glad that I finally purchased this one, as I have been drooling over various Lelo vibes for a long time. It is so pretty and is a great example of a luxury sex toy. I liked this one so much that I want to try some more Lelo vibes, but at the same time I am pretty attached to Isla so it might be a while before I venture out for a new one.

I have loved all of my experiences with Isla. Her tip feels great when I glide it over my clit, especially with the addition of a little lube. The deep vibrations are wonderful on my g-spot and with some light thrusting I can reach orgasm very quickly. Isla works great for warming up and transitions easily for the main event. A toy that works for warm up and more intense play is always a great thing in my book.
