Glo mini - bullet discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by snowminx

The Glo mini by Doc Johnson is a fun little external vibrator that's bigger than a normal bullet but small enough to fit in any purse. The bullet is a bit thicker than one you would find in a cock ring, so it allows for stimulation of a greater area. You can also choose to rub it against your nipples or against your partner's genitals or slide it along your body to entice yourself or your lover.

Mini is great for that added touch of sensation whether it be with a partner or with your other favorite toys. The bullet is also a good 2.5 inches long (insertable length) so you can use it for shallow penetration, and I have even inserted it to help me remember to do my kegels before. On the lower levels it can't even be heard through your clothes so it's great for that little discreet pleasure you might want on the go or pretty much anywhere you please!

Although the product page lists this item as being made out of PVC, the box states that it is mixed with Sil-A-Gel. The gel takes this toy from a 2 to a 5 on the safety scale for being anti-bacterial, non toxic, and Cadmium free (known to be linked to certain cancers). The reason that Sil-A-Gel doesn't rate higher on the safety scale is that although it is anti-bacterial it is still slightly porous and it is recommended that you use a condom on it, espcially if you are going to be sharing it. There is no texture to the toy and it has a very smooth, shiny finish that doesn't cause any drag at all. One of the pros to this material is that you can use both silicone or water based lubes with it, but be warned: this may make this toy a slippery mess!

The Glo mini comes in four different bright colors (orange, pink, blue, and yellow/lime). On the product page it says lime, even looking a bit greenish yellow in the pictures, but on the box my toy came it it lists all the colors and it says it's yellow. I've never seen that one in real life so I can't tell you what you're really getting if you choose the one that said "lime". All I know is that the blue is AMAZING and I would never replace it for another color. Whatever one you pick would be awesome though, and they all glow the same green color so it's not like they are all different in the dark.



The toy smells....odd. You can't smell it right away, it's not like you open the package and 'BAM, toy smell', but it is noticeable when you hold it up close to you. It's not as bad as rubber and it doesn't really turn me off to the toy, but if you are someone that is easily bothered by smells you might just want to skip this one. Now as for what it tastes like - it does have a light taste and even though I disliked the smell of the toy, it didn't taste as bad as I thought it would. Actually it kinda has a sweet taste to it. I've washed it several times now and both the scent and the taste have not gone away or died down.

I also wanted to point out that even though this is made of PVC, it's not flexible at all. It's like it was a toy made out of hard plastic but covered in a PVC sleeve. It has no give to it, strechablity, or anything like regular PVC has.

The seamless, small design of the toy is perfect for on-the-go pleasure and works very well for teasing your clit. The toy is is the size of two of my AA batteries, giving it a height of about 4 inches (10.5 cm) and has an insertable length of 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm). The circumference of the toy is a good 3 inches (7.6 cm) leaving the toy to have a one inch diameter (2.5 cm)* The toy is super lightweight, weighing only slightly over one oz.

This little toy has 10 different fuctions which include three different vibration intensities and seven different patterns to choose from. To turn the toy on, all you have to do is push the button on the bottom. This lights up and will match up with the the speed of the function your toy is on. Turning the toy off is just as easy, all you do is hold down the same button for a few seconds and it shuts down. I wish that the LED light behind the control wasn't so bright though. When you have a toy that is glow in the dark you want to be able to enjoy that, but usually I find myself just distracted by the bright white light.

The Mini does a good job of making sure the vibrations can be felt on all parts of the toy and I can't feel that any one point is stronger than the other. The downfall in this is that you can feel the buzziness on your fingers and it makes them really itchy after a while. This is really the biggest complaint I have with the toy, I need the stronger levels for it to feel pretty good but I can only tolerate the buzziness on the fingers for so long. If I keep on holding it then it will just make my fingers go numb, and nobody likes it when that happens.



One of the things I just LOVE is that it only runs on one AA battery, not some weird watch size battery that some other bullets have. I have both rechargeable and regular batteries and they both work equally well with this toy. It is pretty strong for only having one battery, showing that mini doesn't always mean weak. Even on the stronger settings this toy is pretty quiet, and I don't believe you would be able to hear it over some music. So far I've used this a few times and my batteries haven't seemed to die yet, so it doesn't show itself to be a battery destroyer.

I was amazed at the fact that it wasn't a dust/lint magnet! My silicone toys are like a lint roller compared to this bad boy. Usually after I wash my toys I happen to still have some lint get on them or have a piece of cat hair get stuck on it, but this almost literally picks up nothing! Even if I place it on my bed for a while (and Lord knows how much cat hair is embedded into my sheets) at the most I'll have one or two little things stuck to it. It really is the easiest toy to clean in my box. They say Sil-A-Gel has a tendency to pick up dust and other things but I've really yet to see it.

Cleaning is a breeze for this waterproof little toy. Just stick it under some warm water and use mild soap and you're good to go! I have tested this bad boy out and it does indeed hold up to to being submersed in a bath tub or sink if you screw the top on tight enough. Toy wipes are also safe to use with this toy but should not be a replacement for regular cleaning. Sadly this toy is not dishwasher, boiling, or bleach safe as it will damage the toy.

The box is pretty convenient with the toy. It's just a simple paper box that has a plastic insert to hold the toy (the toy sits in between two pieces of plastic) and I use it for storage. The box is roomy and I'm able to fit a few small things in there. Right now I have a pack of Eden wipes, cock ring and two AA batteries, and I still have enough room to put a condom or two in there. If you have a couple of little bullets you can even stick those in the box and keep them all in one place!



The writing on the box wasn't very instructional, but with a toy this simple you really don't need it. I loved the bright colors and the design of this box and I think it would make a nice little gift. Keep in mind that there is clear plastic showing the toy, so I would wrap it up if you don't want anyone to know what it is right away.
