Luv Some Chub!

This is a low-priced starter g-spot vibe. The material is low on the safety scale, but the vibrator probably won't be a long-term investment piece, anyway. Enjoy it for what it is.

Use

The Crystalessence Chubby G is a great vibrator for anyone, but especially anyone who likes vaginal vibration. Even though it looks rather girthy at first, that seems to be an optical illusion, because the diameter is only 1.25" of chub! This would be lots of fun for a beginner, especially since it's inexpensive.

Material / Texture

The Crystalessence Chubby G is indeed made of "crystalessence" which is really PVC, and unfortunately only rates as a 2 on the EF safety meter. It is non-porous, however, and that's a plus because this toy can be used with oil, silicone, or water-based lubricants. The material is very smooth, soft and flexible, (where is is not encasing the hard internal parts of the toy), but it IS a lint/dust magnet.
I did not notice a strong odor.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Chubby G is that of a fat G-spot stimulator. The whole toy is 6.5" long, but with the 'pleasure nubs' ring around the middle, the insertable length is realistically only 3.5" (which works well if you've got a G-spot that's close to your vaginal opening -- I don't). That ring, however, does provide clitoral stimulation for me. This probably varies according to individual anatomy, and would explain the wide range of reviews here.
This toy is waterproof, according to Cal Exotics. I would think that it is at least water-resistant. The material is great with silicone lube in the tub or pool! I haven't seen any water in it after tub use. So far, the waterproof claim holds true.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Powered by 2 AA batteries (not included), the Chubby G has a multi-speed vibrating bullet encased in the pink Crystalessence. The vibrations are controlled by twisting the dial at the bottom. As is the case with most 'multi-speed' dial-controlled vibrators, the multiple speeds are really just more or less a continuum of the one speed. This is very strong at full speed...too much for me, but I like a lighter touch than some. This is no Hitachi, but it does pack a punch.

Care and Maintenance

Wash this with soap and water or toy cleaner. It is a fuzz-collector, so be prepared to keep cleaning it. Storing this in an individual ziploc bag or toy pouch can help keep it clean.
Its compact size makes it easy to store, and good for travel. However, the shape is definitely that of a sex toy, so it's not DISCREET for travel.
Follow-up commentary
I don't DISLIKE this, but it really doesn't get much use. The material is on the cheap end, and I just have much nicer silicone toys.
