Because the half that goes inside is ribbed, it catches a lot of fluid. You have to make sure it is cleaned properly and promptly; otherwise, it may be hard to get it fully cleaned (if you wait too long after the act).

I recommend you to try the different speeds, before you use the toy with your partner. When I used it for the first time, I was distracted by it because I had to figure out which setting was the best for me.
