Melt Me~

Melt is an aesthetically pleasing pressure wave toy that will leave you breathless -- if you don't press it too hard to yourself. Previously, the We-Connect App had issues in regards to Google Play Store's policies and was taken down until We-Vibe no longer collected user data. As of 12/20/2019, We-Vibe claims to have destroyed all user data collected thus far & removed the app's ability to collected it - as such, it's been restored to the Google Play Store.

First impression

We-Vibe's Melt arrived in a plain cardboard box, with no markings hinting at its contents whatsoever. The return sender was marked as "Web Merchants Inc.", as always. I love Eden's discreet shipping so much; never have to worry about my nosy neighbors judging me. Upon opening the package, I was faced with one of the prettiest boxes I've ever seen. On the outside, we see a lovely gradient on the silhouette of the toy with a pale blue background. On the sides, a brief text (in German & Spanish) describing the contents, their materials, and basic details, as well as a mention of the We-Connect app.

Opening the artwork-of-a-box reveals Melt, behind a piece of transparent plastic, and housed in a foam cutout. The inner part of the cover has more informative texts (like that on the sides) in over a dozen languages. The bottom of the box has a short disclaimer and a barcode.

I took everything out of the box: Melt itself, a magnetic USB charging cable, an instruction booklet, a storage pouch, and a lube sample from Pjur. The pamphlet describes basic instructions in mostly images.

Handling Melt feels like handling the most luxurious dildo - despite it not being a dildo. Though it could be used as one if need be, I suppose... If there's a will, there's a way, after all. We're talking satin-smooth silicone. I realized that unlike any of my other 'pressure wave' toys, Melt had zero excess real estate that would get in the way of vaginal penetration & thrusting. This is a serious issue with the Womanizer Premium at times. I powered Melt on, as I wanted to see what the pulsations felt like and if the toy was actually functional; thankfully, there was some charge. After playing around with its controls a bit (basically, an increase/decrease in intensity; no patterns), I set it aside to charge.

First Use

First use, as always, was a solo session in the shower. I'm an Aquarius, after all. Melt's labeled as a waterproof toy, and it very much is. I laid back, added a few drops of lubricant to the toy's surface (as well as my skin), turned it on, and slid the oval-shaped bit over my clit. It always starts out on the lowest setting; there's no memory function (I actually like this). Compared to my other pressure wave toys, this one felt very "thuddy" right off the bat, even on the lowest setting. As I laid there in the tub, I fantasized someone giving me oral love before moving onto adding my fingers to the game (with my other hand).

Melt's a lovely toy for warm-up. It's good at getting me dripping wet within minutes, so in that first shower session, after only a short amount of time, I was craving for something more than just my fingers. Mustang joined the party. Oh goodness. What a majestic combination. It's a feeling every woman should experience, that's for sure.

Melt's design doesn't get in the way of thrusting in general. It's easier to hold than the Satisfyer Pro 2. It's not as easy to navigate as LELO's Sona, as the control pad is facing away from you (Sona faces towards you), but it's not that difficult to distinguish the buttons by touch. I mostly staggered my time spent on the middle-intensity levels (3-7). After some 15-20 minutes of thrusting Mustang and letting Melt play its symphony upon my clit, I reached a very satisfying, albeit short climax, and called it a night.

Further Experience

The majority of the time, my first impressions are on-point and don't change with subsequent uses. This toy can be best described as a much stronger, more luxurious Satisfyer Pro 2, based on the way it feels. The portion of the toy that comes in contact with my skin doesn't have a plushy portion to it. When I'm going to town with a dildo, sometimes I forget myself, press Melt's "mouth" very hard to my clit, and it begins to hurt. If it were more rounded or flattened (like the Satisfyer Pro 2 or Sona), this could easily be avoided. **This is the main reason why Melt doesn't have 5 stars and the Satisfyer Pro 2 does (it's also cheaper).**

Increasing the amount of lube I use does not change the fact that there's not much surface area on Melt's mouth that comes into direct contact with my skin. I have to be rather careful to not press it to myself too hard, or I'll end up sore - and not because of the pulsations, but because of the silicone eating into me. To give you a better idea: imagine a water bottle cap (without the sharp ridges; pretend it's made of semi-flexible silicone) - now imagine pressing that against your skin, and as you near orgasm, you press harder by instinct. Chances are, that cap would temporarily leave a red ring around the area you were pressing against - and that's what Melt does if you press too hard.

That aside, Melt lasts quite a while. Depending on what strength you use it on, it lasts anywhere between 1.5 - 2 hours per charge. It takes about 90 minutes to get it from 0% to 100% battery. It's not the easiest to clean, as the mouth is very small. I usually use soap, water, and a Q-Tip to get to the hard-to-reach areas. You're most welcome to opt for a toy cleaner if that's your preference. Additionally, if you choose to add lubricant to your play, make sure to stick to water-based lubes, as silicone lubes will eventually ruin it.

Vibration Map

This toy doesn't vibrate. It creates air pulsations within the tiny chamber that encloses the clitoris. Imagine standing in front of a speaker blasting to the point where you feel the air molecules moving. Now imagine cupping that speaker, essentially trapping the sound and forcing it in one direction. That's what it feels like against your skin. Works miracles on the clit and wonders on the nipples.

The pulsations begin to feel what can be best described as thuddy. I have several clitoral toys of this caliber, and that thuddiness can be compared to something like the Satisfyer Pro 2, but more powerful towards the upper levels. Other reviewers have mentioned that at higher levels, it creates a "sucking" sensation, but I have not felt that with either toy. If you're not a fan of the thuddy feeling, and your clitoris is made of solid diamond, you may want to opt for the very intense (and currently on sale!) LELO Sona. In other news, if you don't have a dildo or vibrator, Melt's shape can be used as a makeshift one, but it's not something I'll praise it for.

[Regarding the We-Connect App created by We-Vibe]

Below you'll find my notes regarding the app.

We-Vibe App notes:
- successful bluetooth connect = 3 pulses at ~5 intensity
- successful partner connect = 3 pulses at ~5 intensity
- only 1 person can control the toy via app at a time
- partner always has to request control prior to using it
- if user takes control back, partner has to request control again
- if partner disconnects, partner has to request control again
- if user disconnects, last known setting stays on & Melt reconnects automatically. App experiences momentary lag; toy does not.
- if user disconnects and partner changes settings, Melt auto-updates to whatever partner set to last upon reconnecting.
- tapping anywhere on intensity section of app = pause
- app displays Melt's battery status (with %)
- app has an option to cap the maximum possible intensity: if your personal comfort is 7/12, you can set it so that it will not go above 7.
- has option to kick partner; autokick enabled after 10min of inactivity
- can connect to other We-Vibe toys
- connecting to partner requires consent from both parties prior to being given control
- app has "vibration" functions; you can create your own. this feature does not work with Melt, but should work fine with other We-Vibe products.
- app isn't very stable. Not sure what causes the occasional crashes.
  • Very mild, low level vibration
  • Moderate vibration
  • Strong and easily felt vibration

Orgasm Intensity

Orgasms with Melt (and a dildo, as I need dual stimulation) are lovely, but (as usual,) elusive. I hope to one day rid myself of my anorgasmia. However, when I do get them, they feel as if I'm gently melting. They're somehow more short-lived when compared to the other pressure wave toys I've mentioned in this review. They're not earth-shatteringly intense (like Sona's), but I do love them nonetheless. The best way to use this toy is with plenty of lubricant and in tandem with a G-Spot dildo/vibrator.
