My Shiny New Friend

The Liberte 2 from California Exotics is part of the Couture Collection and is a silicone traditional style vibrator. I was very excited to receive this for review. I actually waited outside for the mailman. It really is a great little vibrator with a lot of options and variety, but there are some disappointments, for me at least.

I wouldn't recommend this for anal use because of the lack of a flared base, but it could stimulate pretty much any part of the body. Its great for vaginal insertion as well as clitoral stimulation. This is a great beginner's toy because it is body safe and flexible in the tip, which makes for easy insertion. It could also be great for more advanced users, just depends on what you are looking for in a vibrator.

The Liberte 2 is made of 100% silicone. It has no taste or smell to it and has a smooth texture. It has a very matte feel to it so lubricant is recommended during use. The texture has some drag to it and when it is rubbed against the skin it feels very pleasurable. The tip of this toy is very flexible and eases insertion. The rest of the toy is pretty rigid, but that is because of the motor and battery compartment. This is a non-porous material so it is completely body safe. It repels dirt and bacteria and can be completely disinfected. It also has some swirly lines down the sides that add some texture but they can't be felt during play. This material is great for beginners or more advanced users because of it being body safe and the ability to disinfect the material. The texture is very pleasurable and has some give to it so it is great for any experience level.

This vibrator is a traditional style vibrator with some swirly texture down the sides. This texture can't be felt during use but it does look nice. It feels great all over the body (chest, nipples, thighs, etc.), internal vaginal stimulation, and clitoral stimulation. So it really does work well for anything.

The size of this vibrator is really nice. It works well for both beginner and advanced users. It measures 6 1/2 inches long, 5 1/4 inches are insertable, and the diameter is 1 1/4 inches. Because of the size, it is very easy to hide. It can easily be hidden in a purse pocket or suitcase and no one would ever know its there. It definitely looks like a sex toy so don't leave this out when your friends or parents come over, they definitely won't mistake this for a sculpture.

As far as performance goes, the Liberte 2 does not disappoint. It has seven vibration functions and very strong, rumble-like vibrations. This toy is advertised as waterproof, but I do have my doubts. It has a VERY small O-ring at the battery compartment opening. When the battery compartment is COMPLETELY closed there is a small gap left between the cap and the toy (See Video). This does concern me as this is not completely airtight. I did try it in the shower and it was fine, but I wouldn't recommend submerging this. I won't even test it because it concerns me so much, and I do like the toy a lot so I am worried about ruining it.

There are seven vibration functions that are controlled by a single push button at the base. This button lights up red when the toy is on. It is very quiet and cannot be heard through a closed door. On the highest setting it could be heard through covers, but not blankets. The vibrations are strongest in the base, but taper out nicely to the tip.

Here are the functions in order from turn on:
1. Low constant
2. Medium constant
3. High constant
4. Roller coaster
5. Long pulses
6. Short pulses
7. Mixed pulse (2 short pulses then 1 long pulse)

There is no dedicated on/off button so you have to cycle through all the vibrations to turn it off. Its not a big deal though because the button is bigger and easy to push, but not easy enough to change during play. There is nothing I hate more than accidentally changing functions while using a vibrator, but that doesn't happen with this so I do have much love for it. And the red light is is a great bonus. I love lights in the dark!

It takes 2 AAA batteries and so far seems to be battery efficient. It is just as strong as the day I got it, so the batteries are holding up well.

**My battery connection was a little funky when I got this. It wouldn't turn on at all and I thought it was broken. If you have this problem just keep playing around with it and you should be fine. Mine is working fine now.**

The Liberte 2 is fairly easy to care for. Cleaning can be done with warm water and soap or a toy cleaner spray. I store mine in its original packaging (which I will be throwing away soon), but will be getting a little baggy for it. I recommend storing this separate from other toys as it does attract a lot of lint and dust particles. Silicone does not get along with jelly so please keep them away from eachother...it could get ugly. The Liberte 2 should only be around water based lubricant, silicone based could break down the silicone so stay away from it with this toy.

The packaging for the Liberte 2 is the basic Couture collection box. It has a splash of water down the front of it and it done very tastefully. When you open it...drumroll please...the vibrator is in a FOAM THROWAWAY BAG. Yes thats it. There is nothing to stop it from moving around the box during shipment which means it could break. I definitely wasn't impressed with this. You could use this for temporary storage but definitely not long term storage.
