Taya UR3 soft sleeve and vibrator - traditional vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by secdoover

Taya is a vibrator that comes with an ultra realistic sleeve. It can be used for clitoral stimulation as well as vaginal insertion. It has no flared base, so it's not recommended for anal insertion. It could also be used for nipples or other areas of the body.

This vibrator would be good for those who have had some experiences with toys in the past. The toy itself is a hard plastic that has no give. Care should be used during insertion to avoid discomfort or injury.

Taya works decently when paired with a nice bullet, such as the Crystal High Intensity Bullet 2. Using the bullet on your clit while using Taya for vaginal penetration is a nice pairing.

The vibrator portion of this toy is made from plastic. It has no smell or taste. It can be cleaned with soap and water, before and after each use. Because the toy is not waterproof, caution should be used to make sure it does not get submerged in water and is dried thoroughly.

The sleeve that comes with Taya is made from Ultra Realistic 3.0 (UR3). UR3 is a thermoplastic elastomer - a mixture of PVC and silicone. It is an extremely porous material with drag to it. Water based lubrication should be used. It's a good idea to use a condom to protect the sleeve. It should be cleaned before and after each use with warm water and soap, or toy cleaner. It will gather dust/lint, so store accordingly in a plastic bag or something similar.

The spiral texture on the sleeve adds some much needed texture to this toy. After all, without the sleeve, Taya is a basic vibrator. While I enjoyed the sleeve, I found it to be bothersome. I often quickly discarded it out of frustration because it would not stay in place.

The sleeve that comes with Taya is fuchsia. The vibrator itself is silver. Taya is 7 1/2" long with 6 1/2" being insertable. It has a circumference of 5" and a diameter of 2". The size is typical for that of a basic vibrator.

When using Taya for insertion with the sleeve, a water based lube is required. I found no lube was necessary when using Taya for insertion without the sleeve.

Taya is good for beginners and those with some toy experience, but advanced users may find her too basic. The sleeve adds more to the toy for those with some experience, however.

At her size, Taya isn't too difficult to hide but she is not discreet. Anyone who has ever seen a vibrator will know what she is the moment they spot her. She would be fine for travel, slipping in easily amongst other items. She should be kept in a baggie or other package to keep it cleaner.

Taya has a dial control on the base to turn it on/off, as well as increase/decrease the intensity of the vibrations. The dial moves easily but not on its own when in use. The sleeve is too long and sometimes moves down on the vibrator, blocking the control.

This vibrator is a great toy to use for clitoral stimulation as well as vaginal penetration. She's also a nice toy to use on your nipples or other parts of the body.

Taya is not a quiet toy. She is loud. She can easily be heard when used under the covers and even through a closed door. The sound increases as you increase the vibrations on the toy. When used at its lowest level, it's still louder than most toys.

Unfortunately, Taya is not waterproof. It would be a great feature for this toy to have.

On a scale of 1-5, the intensity of this vibrator ranges from 1 at the lowest and goes up to 4 at the highest setting. The vibrations travel the entire length of the toy. If used for prolonged periods, the vibrations will cause numbing of the clit and hand.

Both the vibrator and the sleeve should be cleaned with water and soap, or toy cleaner. The sleeve gathers dust and lint. It should be stored in a plastic bag or something similar. The sleeve can be bothersome to dry without attracting dust or lint to it in the process.

Only water based lubes should be used with Taya. Other kinds may damage the sleeve. This sleeve needs to be stored away from other toys as it may discolor due to contact. The easiest way to prevent this is to store it either in the plastic that it came in or in a plastic bag. Batteries should be removed when not in use.

Taya comes in a see-through plastic container. The toy can be seen through the package and it is not discreet at all.

The back of the package informs that this vibrator and sleeve are phthalate free. The front lets you know it is anti-bacterial, non-toxic, latex-free and cadmium free.

Unfortunately, no user instructions come with Taya. No information can be found on the package about how this toy should be cleaned and cared for. Users have to seek out this information for themselves.

Taya wasn't a toy that I would necessarily pick out for myself. It just doesn't look very exciting. However, I'm glad I gave it a chance. The vibrations are much stronger than I expected. Unfortunately, she is just too loud! While this shouldn't be very surprising since the vibrations are strong, it is still a disappointment. It would be nice if she was waterproof as well.

The ease of changing the vibration level is a big plus. Many toys with dial controls on the base either have a dial that is difficult to adjust or one that moves during play. Taya does not have this issue.

I would recommend Taya to novice users. As long as those new to penetration exercise caution, they will enjoy her a lot. Despite the texture on the sleeve, advanced users may become too bored with Taya.
