Not So Precious Jewel

Although I was highly disappointed with the Climax Jewels, I would recommend it for a beginner who is looking to ease into a vibrator. As I noted earlier, refrain from insertion — unless of course you enjoy the pain of scratching and pinching in and around your genitalia.

Use

The Climax Jewels vibrator was everything I hoped it wouldn't be. Medium to light vibes that can only be used externally due to it's poor craftsmanship, paired with the impossibility of being able to keep this toy clean made it my least favorite toy to date.

The Climax Jewels is a sub-par vibrator meant only for external use. I say this because where the head meets the shaft of the vibrator there is a small lip between the two pieces of plastic that makes insertion very painful. There is no way to remove the head or adjust it to prevent this without breaking the toy and because of this lip, bodily fluids and lubricant gets trapped inside of the toy/underneath the plastic.

Used for clitoral stimulation, this toy is a decent option to get yourself going. Do not bet on this toy being a finisher unless you are extremely sensitive — the vibes are too light. The vibration of the unit is solely in the head. I would not recommend this toy to those looking for strong vibes.

Material / Texture

The Climax Jewels is made out of cheap plastic. Despite it's material safety rating, bodily fluids will get trapped underneath the plastic and seep in and out. After four uses, I've now shelved this unit permanently because of this disgusting feature.

Out of the box there was a very light plastic smell but nothing too overwhelming. The texture of the unit does nothing for stimulation as only the head is a viable.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this toy is what made me hate it the most. Phallic in shape, but only the tip/head can be used for stimulation. Not to mention, the size leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't say this toy is "travel friendly" — it certainly can be concealed but it is not discreet.

Functions / Performance / Controls

As mentioned above, the vibrations are only located in the head of the toy. It has multiple speeds that can be dialed up or down by rotating the base of the unit. But be careful as if you turn too hard you can unlatch the base and your battery will come out.

In terms of volume, the toy produces a medium buzz noise that can easily be masked by a blanket or pillow but is still too loud to hide from a dorm roommate.

The battery is an odd type as it is a "C" battery. Not uncommon to find in most stores, but I've never owned a toy that takes a "C" and provides such weak vibrations.

Care and Maintenance

It is impossible to get this toy 100% clean if you insert it or use lubricant, as any liquid will seep into the toy via the various gaps along the head, shaft and base. However, washing the tip (what you'll use anyway) is very easy. Toy cleaner or anti-bacterial soap will handle just fine.

Because this is plastic, most lubes will work fine, however I'd recommend water based lubricant such as Maximus.
