Panache? Yes. Sophisticated? Not so much.

This toy is little-girl-cute and cheaply elegant with its fake rhinestone band and hard plastic shaft. It's short and petite, making it great for beginners. It has an easy, turn-dial control. It's waterproof and quiet enough for even my thin walls. However, it really doesn't pack much of a punch. Buyer beware: Unless looking for a semi-decent warm up toy, experienced users might find this toy a total flop.

Use

Well the pretty box, of course, is for concealing. As for the vibe? You can use that for just about any old thing. Though you should keep a firm grip on it if you decide to give it a shot anally. Pun optional.

Tease it over your partner's nipples. Taunt your guy by running it over his balls. Vibrate your way through a sensual bath in a gently perfumed tub. Just know you're probably not going to get off.

The Panache is great for warm-up and an excellent beginner toy, but experienced users be warned. It probably won't get you any further than that.

Material / Texture

The PPS's shaft is made of hard, hot pink plastic. It's phthalates and latex free, and nonporous. It's shiny and smooth, with little to no drag. Mine has a slight dimple in the very tip that isn't felt in use. And the firmness makes it perfect for pinpoint stimulation.

The handle of the PPS is also plastic. It's bright, shiny silver with dimples meant to resemble rhinestones. Remember the little girl jewelry you used to (or still do) buy your daughter when she was five? It had the big shiny fake stone with dimples in it to resemble diamond cut? That's what this looks like. The texture makes it great for holding onto in some of those more slippery situations. But it still looks like something you'd buy at the Dollar Tree.

Design / Shape / Size

Let's start with the neat little storage box it comes with, shall we? Also pink and silver, it is reminiscent of a perfume box in a little girl's makeup set. The ones that are meant to mimic the fancy boxes Mommy's expensive perfume comes in. Its silver faux-rhinestone band gives it an elegant, yet cheap look and makes it easy to hide in plain sight on a dresser... in your daughter's room. In your room, it will look like you and your daughter were playing dress up and something got left behind during clean up.

The toy is five and one-half inches long, with an insertable length of four and one-half inches, and is one inch at its widest point, making it the perfect size for beginners. It tapers to a dull point meant for pinpoint stimulation. It's completely non-threatening, and perhaps a little comical, in appearance.

Its silver bottom spins off to reveal a battery compartment that holds one AA battery. You'll find a black washer there to ensure waterproofing.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The PPS is mostly quiet and the vibrations travel well through the length of the shaft. They seem to be located somewhere closer to the center than the tip, but don't have trouble making their way to where they belong. I didn't notice any of the inconsistencies that Lollie mentioned in her review.

This toy is controlled by a turn-dial at the bottom that raises and lowers the intensity of the toy. Though I'm not sure "intensity" is quite the right word. I would describe these vibrations, at their highest point, as somewhere just under medium. They definitely do not venture into high territory at all. This toy is great in water, and easy to use.

Care and Maintenance

Store the Panache Pure Sophistication in the felt bag that it comes with, or the matching pink and silver box. Or both. Or just stuff it in a drawer. But be sure to wipe it down with toy wipes, or antibacterial soap and water, first. Isopropyl alcohol to disinfect it. Take the battery out when you store it, and make sure the washer's in place before you take it in the water.

CAUTION: Using this toy with rechargeable batteries will get you even less power than the toy has, if that's possible. Even fully charged rechargeables don't have enough juice to get this motor going.
