Royally Playful

This lingerie set has everything going for it: attractive appearance, easy to wear and have sexy fun in, quality construction and a steal at less than $30. While the fit wasn't exactly what I'd expected, it was close enough to be thorougly enjoyable and I think it would work on a range of body types.
Rich color, unique style, comfortable, low price.
The cut of the top was not exactly as pictured.

extremely useful review
This set appealed to me because it’s both cute and sophisticated at the same time. The babydoll shape is flirty, but the high, detailed neckline really adds an element of classiness. I also thought it would be flattering on me: as someone with a bit of a pear-shaped figure, I look for lingerie that helps to balance things out by drawing attention to the chest and minimizing the hips. Looking at the sizing chart for Escante lingerie, I decided to order a size medium as I usually wear a size 6-8 (A/B cup size) and am fairly tall at 5'9", 145lb.

The first thing that I loved about this lingerie was that it didn't come in a plastic bag or paper envelope-style box inexpensive lingerie often does. It was simply folded inside a stack of pink tissue paper, the way that higher-quality lingerie is. The second delight was how rich the color is. The purple is truly a royal-looking shade and, although it's difficult to see in the pictures for this item, the diamond-shaped lace around the chest is a really lovely gold: think rich rather than glitzy in a cheap way, 18 karat gold jewellery instead of gold lamé.

Next, I checked out the items before putting them on. The fabric is an elasticized mesh with quite a fine weave to it (tiny holes). My impression is that it will hold up well over numerous wearings and be less likely to be snagged on things the way that a looser weave would. The mesh part is quite soft, and the lace is not in any way scratchy or stiff. There are also loops under the arm areas for hanging the babydoll top up. The loops are made of a soft, slightly lighter-purple lace--a nice change from the standard clear elastic hang-up loops, but I will probably remove the loops in the long-term as they are quite long and easily visible through the sides of the babydoll top (see middle photo below).

Finally, I put it all on. The length of the babydoll top is a little shorter than I expected. In the photos the back is covering all of the model’s butt, but it just-barely-by-one-thread covered mine. I would have loved for it to be one inch longer. Although, I am tall with a curvy butt and the model may be short with less-generous assets in the rear. It is possible to pull the back down a bit, temporarily, by adjusting the elastic edge under your shoulder blades.

I was happy that the "one size fits all" bra cups actually fit my small breasts, without any gapping in the material. I imagine larger-breasted ladies would do fine with these elasticized cups as well, as long as you're not needing strong support (there is no underwire). The seams in the cups do go right across where the nipples are (on me anyway). However, the fabric is soft enough that I didn’t find the seams irritating, and this has the advantage of offering a tiny bit of coverage instead of having the nipples fully visible through the lace.

There is quite a bit of fabric around the mid-section. I think the product photo is a little misleading here in that it looks like the mesh fabric clings to the model's torso through the ribcage area, whereas I found that starting under the bra part the fabric started to go immediately outwards, like a triangle. It is lightweight and floaty, through, giving it a playful feel to flounce around in. The design would likely work well for someone who wanted to conceal their tummy or sides a bit.

The G-string is comfy, with ample coverage in the front and ample elastic around the sides so that it doesn’t dig in. I liked the cut of it a lot, the front part goes up high enough that the elastics around the side cross the hips and butt fairly high up, which is both comfortable and looks attractive, a nice defining line seen through the babydoll top. This piece actually made me think that I should wear G-strings more often in everyday life, instead of thongs, if they can be this comfy! Another nice detail is that care instructions tag at the back is stitched on lightly, making it easy to remove.

I'm rating the Queen of the Nile set as five stars because it's a beautiful, unusual, design and very high-quality for the price. I wouldn’t say that the cut of the top is the absolute most flattering one for my particular shape (tall, small-breasted, pear-shaped), but I love it so much I plan to wear it regularly anyway!
Queen of the Nile review photos
After thoroughly checking out the outfit myself, it was time to invite my husband for a little trip down the Nile. His first impression on seeing me in it was that it was gorgeously sexy, but that (as I had thought as well) it would be nice if the mesh was more fitted through the ribcage area, as the billowing fabric was too concealing and was making me look wider through the middle than I actually am.

The outfit was great for having sex in. The cross-front opening of the babydoll means that it's very easy to slip aside, and never constricts or rides up, in any position. My man found the neckine a lot of fun to play around, kissing and prying around with his fingers, but it also stayed in place at times when it wasn't being touched. The elastic tie around the neck likewise stayed in place perfectly and was comfortable.

The nicest comment from my test partner was that he enjoyed the fantasy aspect of the lingerie. He said that during some of the best parts of the sex he'd been looking at the top part of the outfit and imagining that he was actually doing a queen from ancient Egypt. I think the next time I wear this lingerie we might start developing more of a sexy storyline around that and enjoying it further!
