Silver Impulse Is A Great Impulsive Buy

Though the toy has closer to 4 functions rather than the 7 promised, the 4 different functions are varied and pleasurable. This toy simply isn't anything particularly spectacular, but considering the price, it's a decent purchase that will give you moderate amounts of pleasure for a cheap price.
Published:

Use

This is in the shape of a traditional vibrator made for penetration, but due to its small size and lack of length, it's probably more suitable for light G-spot stimulation or external/clitoral stimulation.

Because it's so small, it could be used on various parts of the body for sensory play. It's so small and it doesn't have a flared base, so this toy isn't suitable for anal at all.

Material / Texture

Don't let the metal sheen fool you; this toy is plastic and that sheen is simply painted on. One of my least favorite things about this toy is knowing that eventually the paint is going to begin to chip off. However, I've had this toy for several months now and the paint has still held up well.

This toy is a safe 8 on the EdenFantasys safety scale, which means that it is porous and shouldn't be shared between partners unless being used with a condom.

This toy feels exactly like you'd picture a plastic feeling. It doesn't have either the silky feeling of TPR or the stickiness of silicone. It tends to glide across skin with minimal friction, though it's best used with some sort of lubrication. Because of its plastic material, you can use any sort of lube you want. I use water-based lube with it on my bed and such, and silicone-based lube when I use it in the shower.

This toy had no odor when it came out of the box, nor has it developed one after owning it for a couple of months.

Design / Shape / Size

This toy has a total length of about 4.5 inches, however only 3 of those inches are insertable. It has a diameter of one inch, so it's not going to be overwhelming when used internally.

This toy looks like a shrunken-down version of a traditional vibrator, so anyone who comes across it is going to know what it is immediately. It is easy to hide within a suitcase however, and I have brought it with me on trips and such.

I find this toy to essentially be a bullet toy in the form of a traditional vibrator. It's close in size to a bullet and I use it in the same manner; the only difference is that this toy doesn't have any wires (which is a really great plus!).

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy boasts 7 functions! Wowza! However, many may find that the different pulse settings feel practically identical and so it might feel like this toy only has 4 or 5 functions.

The toy has a low standard vibration, medium, and high vibration, 3 different pulse vibrations, and one escalating vibration.

The bottom of this vibrator would lead one to believe that the toy is a dial base, but in fact those arrows are compeltely meaningless. Instead, this toy operates with a push button on the bottom.

The worst part of the toy is that it doesn't turn off easily. While many toys can be turned off by holding down the button for 3 seconds, this toy has to be cycled through the entirety of its settings before it will turn off. This means that if you're using the toy on its first setting, you have to cycle through 6 others before it will turn off. This could be potentially embarrassing if someone walked in on you as it could take some time to get it to turn off.

The fact that it's a button instead of a dial does make it easier to change the settings while it's being used, and yet manages to have never accidentally change setting on me, which is nice.

When you click the vibrator on, it cycles through the settings as follows: low, medium, high, low pulsation, medium pulsation, escalating, high pulsation.

Personally, I find the first 3 vibration settings to be much too similar. The lowest setting is probably a 1.5 on the buzz scale and high is probably a 2.5. I also find the first 2 pulsation settings to be highly similar.

However, if you consider that the vibrator offers a vibration, a pulsation, an escalation, and a deeper pulsation setting, there is some variety among these 4 settings.

The best part of this toy is the deeper pulsation which is a surprisingly rumbly buzz for such a small, cheap toy. I wouldn't say that any of the settings are buzzy. Most straddle the line between buzzy and rumbly, except the escalation and deeper pulsation which are decidedly rumbly.

This toy takes 2 AAA batteries. I have used this toy many times and I've yet to have to replace the batteries, which is quite amazing.
    • Easy to use
    • Long lasting power
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

This toy should be washed with soapy water. It doesn't come with any sort of storage, so I just simply store it in the plastic packaging it was sold in. The packaging is relatively small and so storage hasn't been an issue. Otherwise, because it's made of plastic, you could just throw this in a drawer if you wanted to.

This is a really low-maintenance toy.

Packaging

This toy's packaging features the classic woman wearing lingerie. It's by no means subtle and does have a cheap look to it.

Experience

This isn't a bad toy, but it's just not that great. This would be a good buy for a beginner who doesn't want to to throw a ton of money at a toy they're not sure they'll like. However, if you know what you like in a vibrator and what you don't, this probably is going to fall under the "what you don't like" category. It's almost a good toy, but never quite makes it. While it does offer 4 varied functions, none of them are powerful enough to put me over the edge. I still use this toy but only as a teaser for my strong, powerful toys. This isn't something I'd regret buying due to its low price; however, it's also something I wouldn't miss terribly if I hadn't bought it.
Follow-up commentary
Now that I've had some better toys, I realize that this toy isn't that great. It's a little weak and the silver plastic has begun to wear off. It's just not that great.
