Too Good to be True

Meh. I thought the gorgeous Sila was going to be a dream come true. It isn't. No matter the rotation, unless I keep my labia spread the whole time, it pinches my skin and leaves me red & sore. It's also impossible to comfortably thrust a G-Spot vibrator/dildo into myself while using Sila b/c its body always blocks the vaginal opening. You're better off betting literally any of the toys I mention in the last section of this review. If not for its beautiful color, Sila would have 2 stars at best.

First impression

I love masturbating with my legs closed, a toy on my clit, and slowly thrusting into myself with a favorite dildo or vibe. That's why I thought LELO's Sila was going to be a dream come true with its flat body. But as I quickly realized, some things are indeed too good to be true.

As soon as I saw LELO Sila in EdenFantasys' catalog, I knew I had to get my hands on it. And fast, before anyone else. It was *BLUE*, and I needed a blue pressure-wave toy. Fast forward 5 days later, and LELO Sila arrived at my door. I had to refrain from tearing the box open and trying it right then and there afterall, I had to take pictures.

First impressions of LELO Sila were 10/10, just as I had hoped. But it wasn't long before that perfect score plummeted in my mind. LELO Sila's about the size of my Rubik's Cube. Turning over the toy in my hands, I began to wonder: how am I going to please my G-Spot while using this? If the controls face me, the body will block my vagina. If the controls face away from me, I'll struggle to reach them. I shrugged the idea off, hoping I was just overthinking things, but unfortunately, my so-called hypothesis was on-point.

Inside the box we've got Sila, a lube sample, lube instructions, a USB power cord, warranty card, & a TL;DR user manual. This toy does not come with a Rubik's cube. That's mine for size comparison. I am *not* impressed with the storage pouch. Same material as a bathing suit. Previously, my LELO Sona & LELO Sona 2 Cruise models came with high-quality storage pouches. This one honestly feels cheap and not worth the price tag on this toy.

Here's how the buttons work:
- Travel Lock/Unlock: hold +/- for 5 seconds OR plug in to charge
- ON: hit the + button
- OFF: hold center "()" button
- Shuffle patterns: hit center “()” button

This thing takes 2 hours to charge, and it lasts about 2 hours. I actually didn't have the patience to charge mine and used it right out of the box. It was surprisingly fully charged, so at least that was impressive. The plug doesn't go in all the way for some reason, but when it's charging, the led light blinks, when it's done, it glows solid. If it's low on battery, it blinks slowly.

I placed this order along with an NJOY Pure Wand, so I decided to test that out alongside with it. Now, the NJOY Pure Wand is freakin' awesome. It's heavy, but that weight makes me squirt without even REALIZING it - no other toy has done this before. But that's a review for another day. Today we focus on the LELO Sila.

I dribbled a generous amount of lube onto my clit & vulva, spread my labia apart, then plopped Sila's 'mouth' against myself. At first, everything went as expected. Gods, yes. Pleasureful waves ran through me, and I settled into a course I thought was set for orgasm, released my labia, and closed my legs. Because I love doing that while I masturbate. This is where things started to go south, and not in a good way.

I seriously thought that this toy was MEANT for being used between closed thighs - look at the design! It's flat and actually fits perfectly between mine. But if God forbid you tend to react to the pleasureful waves it produces, it isn't! If your body involuntarily twitches or so much as moves with the LELO Sila between your thighs, the mouth will pinch and pull at the skin on your vulva around your clit. THIS DOES NOT FEEL GOOD. AT ALL.

I opened my legs up and parted my labia again. Sweet, sweet relief. So this meant I couldn't do what I thought I was going to be doing with ease unless I was willing to suffer for it. I closed my legs again. And I suffered for it. By the end of this first masturbation session with LELO Sila, my vulva and labia were beet red & sore beyond comparison. I thought they would bleed. But no matter - I did it for science.

As everyone knows, it's hard for me to climax and... pretty much impossible for me without G-Spot stimulation - so I reached for my brand new NJOY Pure Wand, slid it in with ease (steel is slippery as heck!), and realized just how hard it is to thrust into myself with the Sila blocking my vaginal entrance.

So I rotated LELO Sila around and closed my thighs again. Still hard to thrust into myself, still pinching at my skin, but now on top of all of that, I couldn't see the controls, struggled to reach them, and realized it was almost impossible to tell them apart by touch. God damn it.

Mere moments later, I felt something warm run down my arm towards my elbow. Apparently, I was squirting from the heavenly weight of NJOY Pure Wand. I was just barely thrusting it because of the limitations Sila bound me with, and I didn't even notice I was squirting. It was a very bizarre experience, but I welcomed it.

An hour and a half later (I know, right? I take forever) I managed to cum, but just barely. It wasn't even a satisfactory orgasm. At that point, I was cranky, exhausted, sore, and I'm neither masochistic nor submissive, so these things didn't appeal to me at all.

Further Experience

I've had the LELO Sila for almost 2 months now, and the story doesn't change: no matter which rotation I place LELO Sila against myself, I can't get comfortable.

5

Every rotation makes the flat mouth (that's flush against the skin that's found around the clit on my vulva) pinch me if I react to the pressure waves. The inner part of my labia gets pinched as well. This results in a reddened and sore vulva after every masturbation session *UNLESS* I actively keep my labia spread the entire time with my other hand. But if I'm busy doing that, I can't use a dildo or a vibrator to stimulate my G-Spot at the same time - and without that, I can't orgasm. Even if I had a third hand, I would still be at least partially blocked by the toy's body.

If the controls are facing me (this is how I think the toy should be used), the body blocks my vaginal entrance. If the controls are facing away from me, I can't distinguish the buttons, they're hard to reach, and I'm still at least partially blocked.

Using this knowledge and the fact that I'm one of those people that enjoys having their thighs pressed together when masturbating with a dildo and a pressure wave toy, you can see that this just doesn't work. At all. I'm sure that if the flat part of the mouth was, in fact, rounded like how it is on LELO Sona/LELO Sona 2 Cruise models, we wouldn't have this problem. I can see how that flat mouth would be good on paper, but when put into practice, it's absolutely terrible.

Lastly, sometimes Sila randomly just stops. And then I have to smack its body or prod at the membrane on the inside to get it going again. I can't figure out why it stops. I like to think that it's some kinda safety measure in case the membrane somehow touches the clit, but my clit's tiny and doesn't even come close to it, so it's really weird.

Vibration Map

LELO Sila is actually weaker than the LELO Sona/LELO Sona 2 Cruise models, with the latter being the strongest of the three. I wish Sila had more strengths because oftentimes I find myself hitting the + button when I'm already at the highest speed (8). That being said, this doesn't mean that LELO Sila's a weak toy - LELO Sona & LELO Sona 2 Cruise are simply the strongest pressure-wave toys I own, and I like high power/speed.

Also, this toy isn't "whisper-quiet". On the first 1-3 strengths it is *relatively* quiet, but once you hit 4+, this thing is quite audible, especially if it isn't touching skin. Even the shower doesn't fully drown out the noise it makes at the 8th speed. The Sona models do better in terms of silence.

Regarding vibration patterns, which I could care less about:
- steady
- slow pulses
- fast pulses
- faster pulses
- short escalating pulses
- long escalating pulses
- longer escalating pulses
- semi-random? I honestly don’t know what this is.
  • Very mild, low level vibration
  • Moderate vibration
  • Strong and easily felt vibration

Orgasm Intensity

The fact that LELO Sila makes me sore when my labia aren't forcibly spread apart makes using Sila almost a nightmare. Using excessive amounts of lube does not help. Additionally, because I can't press my thighs together like how I usually do to masturbate, my orgasms with Sila take much longer to achieve and are much weaker than they are with literally any other pressure wave toy. Here are a few I own and prefer to use, in no particular order: Satisfyer Pro 2, Womanizer Premium, LELO Sona, LELO Sona 2 Cruise, We-Vibe Melt, & Satisfyer Prêt-à-porter. What I'm trying to say is - you're better off getting ANY single one of these rather than risking a red, sore, borderline bleeding vulva, *UNLESS* you're willing to use your free hand to keep your labia spread 24/7 and/or give up using a G-Spot toy comfortably. If you're willing to go through all that, then would the LELO Sila be a good pick. Else, get any single one of the others I linked.

It's a nice toy, but that pinching isn't nice at all xD I hope whenever LELO comes out with another version of this model it'll be better

Great review! I was kind of eyeing this, because I have the Sona and I love it....but from the sounds of it, I'm better off just sticking with my Sona and giving the Sila a pass. Sorry this didn't work out for you, but thanks for the wonderful review!
