Shello - traditional vibrator discontinued by JoyDivision - review by Sunshineamine

Shello is listed as a traditional vibe though it can be used for clitoral stimulation or g-spot stimulation. This toy could theoretically be used anally because of the material safety, but I personally would not attempt this due to Shello's size and the fact that there is no widened end at the base to prevent "losing" the toy. Back door play with caution. You've been warned. This toy will work well for someone who has used dildos or g-spot vibrators before and love a huge phallus, aka a huge member. Shello is the size queens dream for sure. I wouldn't recommend this for a beginner simply because of the size which could be overwhelming. I LOVE this as a solo toy, but Shello could be used in couples play too.

Shello's manufacturer, Joy Division, makes it very clear on the packaging that this vibe is made of 100% medical grade silicone, dermatologically tested, and clinically tested. Mostly true. The majority of Shello is silicone, but the base is plastic. It's funny, but first thing right out of the package I find myself immediately putting a toy up to my nose and giving it a good sniff. Shello passed the sniff test well with no odor detectable to me at all. Shello is made of a velvety, smooth, luxurious feeling silicone and feels wonderful. Silicone is non-porous with a high safety rating of ten and has a water repelling property which makes it a very safe material. There are ridges along Shello that do provide added stimulation with trusting. The texture would be good for anyone that loves velvety silicone and pairs well with a water based lube to get a really nice glide. Shello is fairly flexible around the middle too which is awesome. Shello's "give" makes manipulation of the toy while inside of you a breeze.

Love Shello's design. Shello is very pleasing to the eye. I got mine in pistachio which I renamed sea foam green because Shello is a nautically themed vibe after all. Gorgeous color though. On one side towards the base of Shello is a slightly raised starfish and on the other side is a shell. On the front towards the base Shello is imprinted with "Joystick". All of this is incorporated into the silicone.



Shello's shape is very well thought out. The first portion of this toy that gets inserted is smaller and gradually (but not too gradually) gets larger in diameter. The "smaller" tip is curved up to meet an eager G-spot and fit me very well, once I got Shello in that is. The best way to describe Shello's size is HUGE. I find that I have easily become a size queen which isn't any surprise since I am used to my very well endowed man. Shello is 8" long with 6 3/4 insertable inches which is a lot, but is not necessarily overwhelming. But she is very girthy. The circumference is 5 1/2" and the diameter of Shello is a whopping 1 3/4". This toy is easy for me to hide because it just goes in my toy box, but it is not what I would call discreet. Upon first glance it looks like a very pretty and artistic vibrating dildo to me.

Shello's motor is located towards the top of the vibe and the strongest vibrations are there, though they do carry well throughout the toy. This vibe has multiple speeds that are controlled by a dial located at the base of the toy. This makes it hard to determine how many speeds there are as it seems to be a gradual increase in the intensity of the vibrations as it is adjusted. The control is really easy to use. The battery compartment is in the base and unlike some other toys can be notorious for, this compartment does not come open too easily. It is not difficult to open, it just doesn't come open while in use since it is threaded well. There is a silicone O-ring in the battery compartment which makes this toy waterproof.



I love Shello too much to submerge, but feel very comfortable using Shello is the shower and washing it in the sink. This toy could definitely be heard from underneath covers but I doubt it could be heard through a door. It kind of sounds as loud as my cellphone vibrate does.

Shello is very easy to clean for for three reasons.
1.) Shello is waterproof so she can be washed well in the sink with soap and water.

2.) Shello is silicone and non-porous so when washed she will actually be clean.

3.) Shello's silicone shaft can be sterilized in a 10% bleach solution, then washed with soap and water for when you want her really clean.

This vibe can be stored in a toy bag or box. I would recommend this since the one downside to Shello is that she is a lint and hair magnet. In some of my pics you can see a dog hair or two that got stuck to Shello right away. I wiped her off with an EF toy wipe before using for this reason. Only water based lubes should be used since Shello is made of silicone.

ADDED BONUS: Joy Division warranties the silicone material of Shello for 5 years and all other components of Shello are warrantied for 2 years!

ADDED BONUS #2 : Shello came with a small sample pack of aqua glide lube and also a 50ml bottle of aqua glide lube. This is the lube I used with Shello and it was fantastic.

The box Shello came in is silver and shiny with many languages on it. The main english portion is on the right side panel of the box. The box is meant to be thrown away (please recycle it) and would not be good for storage.

I used Shello in solo play so far. I needed to use her as a clit vibe at first to get me going and had to add some lube so Shello could be inserted. Once inserted Shello was awesome and got me off in 2.2 seconds with a few rubs on my clit. I then used her again immediately. I haven't used Shello in partner play yet, I just wanted to be a little shelfish (yeah corny I know). By the time I debut my follow up I can add what Shello was like for partner play.
