Leave me breathless bullet - bullet discontinued by Hustler Toys - review by TheDP

This is a silicone covered plastic bullet with a remote control. It all feels nice as it's covered in matte silicone (so stay away from silicone based lubes). It's not slick or soft, but sort of velvety and nice. When you first hold it, it feels expensive. Some details hold it back once you look closer, though. The pull string is thin and cheap and is guaranteed to bite into your fingers pretty quickly. It's nice that it's not stretchy, but it could be a bit more substantial. IF I wanted to pull a bullet out by the wire, I'd use a wired bullet. Once you unscrew the egg you feel a bit less like this is a really premium toy. The threads are plastic, which is fine, but they're kind of rough and once it's apart the whole thing flexes more then you'd like. The o ring that makes it waterproof (great feature, I'm sure, as it certainly makes cleanup easier) is thin and doesn't fit terribly tightly. It works, but it just feels a little less then fully thought out.

It comes with the batteries it needs, which is good because it uses not 1 but 2 unusual batteries. It's the N type, which I'm used to seeing in bullets, but in the vibrator world they're usually AAs. The A23 12 volt battery that the remote uses is one I've never seen before. It's just similar enough to the N that it's very easy to accidentally put it in the bullet rather than the remote. Speaking of which, when I saw that the bullet used two N batteries I was kind of excited. I thought to myself that here we may have something, a powerful, waterproof, maybe even quiet remote controlled bullet.

I was mostly wrong.

First, the controls. It has two buttons. One turns it on and cycles through the patterns (slow, medium, fast and then a series of pulse patterns) the other button turns it off. This is nice. You don't have to cycle through all ten (or so, my wife hates patterns and so I pay little attention to them) settings to get back to off. It also has a little light so if you're using the remote to surprise your partner then you'll know when it's on. This brings me to a serious downside on this toy. It's loud. I seriously doubt the remote works from far enough away that you can't hear the bullet. Even inserted you can hear this thing from 20 feet away. Disappointing. One more toy that is not going to venture out into the wide, wide world for public sexy fun time. Unless you're going to the loudest of clubs, (or enjoy the fact that every bystander for a 30 foot radius can hear your vibrator) you can just leave this one at home.

Now, the vibrations. I'm going to have to detour into basic vibrator theory for a second. I feel like vibrator discussions need to branch out from simply talking about power. This vibrator has plenty of power, but it's going into a very small mass, so it's buzzy, not rumbly. Essentially it's turning a very small weight really fast. You can feel that it's not underpowered, but it doesn't transfer that vibration well so the experience is a bit underwhelming. On the plus side, it doesn't numb your fingers or her lady parts. So that's nice. But if you like deep, rumbly vibrations (as my wife does) then you'll be disappointed.

This is a shame because this is a joy to work with. The texture is great, the size (about like a chicken egg) is awesome and it's super comfortable to hold and work the clit with. It's a little big for easy insertion, but you can definitely see that as a plus. Really, really nice. It'll probably get a fairly regular spot in the ol' bedroom rotation. If it were either quieter or rumblier it'd be a contender for top spot. As it is, it's a great design that doesn't end up working all that well.

So my quest for a vibrator we can use in public continues. This is DEFINITELY too noisy for that, so we took it into the bedroom. I love holding it and it's so nice to use on her clit. Much nicer than the slick plastic bullet that is our mainstay. Unfortunately, the buzzy vibrations mean it's not enough to close the deal, so to speak. With this bullet inserted you can get down to business with another vibrator and it definitely adds something to the experience. It'd just be so much better if it had a heavier motor. If you like lighter, buzzier vibrations then this might really be your thing.

The battery in the egg seems to have drained over time, so I really have to think about it to get this one out...so I don't often get it out. That is a shame because it does work nicely.
