My Hand was So Close, Yet So Far

Is the Jack Grip a better version of the old cupped hand? I don't think so. It's a nice design idea in theory, but it lacks the texture and the grip of your hand. The hand that has brought you to orgasm thousands of times is right there- just on the outside of the Jack Grip sleeve- not more than a quarter of an inch away from your penis. So close, and yet so far.

Use

The Jack Grip is a smaller sized penis sleeve. That is not to say it is for small penises! Not at all. By small sized, I mean that it is only intended to cover an area the size of your cupped hand (it is about 3.5" long and expands to a diameter of about 2.5"), rather than the whole length of the penis, as is the case with some of the more famous sleeves, like the Fleshlight. It has a ribbed interior to enhance the friction experience and it has grips on the outside so it fits nicely and snugly in your hand. This is mainly intended as a hand-held sleeve for those who want something a little bit different from the usual cupped hand jerk off.

Material / Texture

The Jack Grip is made with Sil-A-Gel, a PVC material that is semi-porous, but resistant to bacteria. It feels like a jelly toy- soft and squishy. It is so squishy, in fact, that if you aren't sufficiently hard, you will never get your penis inside of it. Make sure you have at least a semi-hard-on before trying it out. It does have a bit of a chemical type smell. It's not super intense, but if you like your toys free of any smells- you will be a bit disappointed.
    • Somewhat porous

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

Basically, the Jack Grip simulates the cupped hand that you would otherwise be using to jerk off. The theory is, if it works for the hand, it will work for the Jack Grip. While that is not a crazy theory, it doesn't necessarily work out that way in reality. The problem with the Jack Grip is that it is too soft and squishy. And if you make the mistake of having lube on your hand when you try to grip it- forget about it! It becomes impossible to get a grip on it. When you use this, you end up missing the firmness and texture of your hand and your ability to vary the intensity of your grip depending on how much friction you want. On the plus side- the fit is snug- not uncomfortably so. Another plus is that it is nice and compact- you could even put it in your pocket- so it's definitely good for trips. It is also fairly discreet looking. But, while it doesn't scream "sex toy" like a veiny 8" dildo with a mushroom head does (ooh, that's making me hot), anyone will be able to figure out what it is if they spend more than 5 seconds thinking about it. So if you really want to be discreet, keep the viewings down to 4 seconds or less.
    • Will fit most people

Care and Maintenance

When I took the Jack Grip out of the box, my first thought was, "How in the world am I going to clean this thing?" So, imagine my surprise when I saw that it came with a 3 page Clean and Care Guide! It turns out this is fairly easy to take care of. Soap and water or a toy cleaner are your best options. I would use water-based lubes with the Jack Grip. Just make sure not to get the lube on the grip- otherwise it will spend more time slipping onto the floor than it does slipping over your penis.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is nothing special. It comes in a 6" by 3" box. You won't feel that you really need to keep it and there is a lot of wasted space, so it is not the best way to store the toy. Keep the plastic insert that the Jack Grip comes with and you could store it in that. In addition to providing cleaning and care instructions, the instructions also tell you how to fix it if you accidentally pull out the interior ring. This is one instance where the guide may have been more useful than the toy!

Personal comments

This was my first time using a penis sleeve. I was eager to try it out, but once I did, I kept thinking about how much I wished I could feel something closer to what my hand feels like. I also didn't confuse the feeling with that of being inside a woman. No points for realism here. It did make me cum though, so, if that's the ultimate measure of a toy's success- it accomplished its goal.
