This toy can best be used either for solo stimulation or for a couple to stimulate one another during sex. It's a very smooth and silky ring. While it does stretch, it still has some firmness to it, which allows for other uses.

The material of the Ego is silicone, so it's a good, safe product. There is only a very minimal smell to the material, which is nearly unnoticeable. While it is silky when lubrication is applied, when dry it can drag against your skin ever so slightly.

The ring can stretch, but it's not a loose-type of stretch. There is some firmness to the material of the ring. This lends it strength, so it is less likely to tear apart. There is no texture on the ring, other than a bump for the on-off switch and a couple of bits of lettering.

The design is rather unique. Personally I think the ring kind of looks like a crown. Given where it is worn, that is a rather amusing concept. Depending on positioning, the wearing of it can be on top of the penis or below it. For those with thicker girth, it might be a little difficult to get it on while erect without the aid of some form of lubrication.

This is a vibrating ring, and is controlled via a single button. One push turns it on or off, while holding the button revs up the vibrations. One new feature, at least to me, is the ability to travel-lock your toy, with three quick presses. This prevents it from accidentally turning on while in your luggage. The vibrations range in intensity from a low, dull sensation, to a loud, humming one.

Being a silicone toy, you need to only use water-based lubricants with it. It is also easy to clean, using only soap and water. Storing it is as easy as sticking it back in the box, which features a foam liner with precut spots for the toy and charging USB.

While the packaging and paper guide contained within the box list this as being a 100% waterproof item, I'm still a bit cautious about it. The small hole where you plug in the USB adapter doesn't seem to have any external protection against water, and I'm a bit worried about water getting inside where an electrical contact from the plug might short out the motor. But maybe I'm just a bit paranoid there.

The outermost box the Ego comes in can only be described as elegant in design. There are a number of pebbles in the image; why, I don't know, but it is nice to look at. Getting it open is as simple as pushing against the hole cut into the opposite side.

Most important is the little instruction and toy guide that comes with this. It fully explains how the LED light in the Ego works while charging. So, never fear about not knowing when it is fully charged.

Personally, I was wondering about the listed price for this item. Over $100 for a ring; that's a new one for me. I don't think I've had any item as expensive as this, barring the SinFive Grace.

But I have to say, the Ego gets a lot of things right. The ability to recharge it via USB cable is a huge benefit in this day and age, where computers are everywhere. Don't have a computer? You can even get a wall socket specifically designed for USB-powered items.

The only downside is in having it out while charging, especially if there are family members about. But a handy drawer should conceal it nicely.

Overall, I've had a highly positive experience with the Ego. While I can't say I would often look for items with a price tag this high, I can say that if I were, I'd look for items like the Ego, or for those made by the same company.
