The "Devon UR3 Vagina and Anus" (I'll refer to it as the DVA)is a a realistically sized representation of a woman's vulva and anus. Having not met Ms. Devon or seen any of her films, I'll assume it is a fairly authentic reproduction of her "girly bits". I admit this is an interesting avenue for further research. The DVA is made of the UR3 material that has a texture and appearance which gives it a remarkable similarity to human skin. To the touch, the UR3 has a combination of an initial softness backed by a yielding firmness. Once warmed, it has a combination of characteristics that give it as authentic a feel that a toy can have. UR3 becomes very slippery when lubricated with water-based lubricants and given its skin-like characteristics, once lubricated, it feels very realistic. The manufacturers do warn that the use of oil or silicone lubricants will damage the material. UR3 is a fairly porous material and that dictates that the toy has to be thoroughly cleaned after use and completely dry before storage. Ordinary soap and water works well. Also, because of the inherent porosity of UR3, toys made of this material are not really suitable for safe sharing among users.

Upon first examination, the first thing I noticed about this toy was its weighty heft. At about five pounds, this thing is quite apt to stay wherever it is placed. This is a really important characteristic for something designed to be used without being held. The wide, flat base (10"x9"), helps keep the toy stationary. The vaginal canal is about six inches deep. The anal canal joins the vaginal canal, but has a slightly greater usable depth. These canals are open at the rear of toy, accommodating any length penis and making cleaning easy. The size of the DVA may make discreet storage problematic. There is a separate opening at the rear of the toy for inserting the vibrating bullet. The orifices are fairly small and tore a bit on first use of the toy. These tears have not grown with subsequent use and it appears that UR3 lend a toy adequate long-term durability.

The included vibrating bullet is about half and inch in diameter and two inches long. It has a little over two feet of wire that terminates in a plug that mates with the controller. This makes the controller very convenient to use during play. The controller provides a fairly wide range of intensity and lets the user select several modes that can provide a "pulsing" or "sweeping" of intensities. The vibrating bullet is completely independent of the rest of the toy, and could be used with pretty much any other masturbation sleeve. Its construction, though, has a number of gaps and crevices where the wire meets the bullet and where the mold halves were connected. This leads me to believe that it can not be thoroughly sterilized, and should not used either vaginally or anally. This makes it best as a "one person" toy enhancer, but still a surprisingly, nice extra if you like adding vibration to your solo play.

The weight of the DVA means that it hold warmth for a very long while, but the other side of this coin is that it takes quite a while for the thick UR3 material to be warmed through and through. If not warmed over a period of at least half an hour in water that is kept quite warm, the inside of the vaginal canal will be unpleasantly clammy. So, plan on warming yourself up while the DVA warms up.

Lying the DVA on the bed and thrusting from above in the "missionary" manner, the first thing I discovered is that the orifices of the DVA are much lower than you would normally expect to find them on a real partner. Unless you raise the toy by placing it on a firm pillow or cushion, thrusting into it from above was awkward enough to cause some lower back pain. Once I placed the DVA on a firm cushion, I discovered that it has a very soft feel around my penis, rather realistically like a relaxed vagina. The inner texture is fairly smooth, and it does not give a lot of tactile stimulation. Despite the fact that I have a wide penis, the feel was not at all tight at any point. The softness and smoothness of the inner feel makes the level of stimulation fairly low. I did not find that the anal orifice offered any real difference in feel, and, because of the softness of the UR3 material, it again lacked the tightness one would expect. Overall, from my penis' point of view (figuratively), the DVA succeeds well at simulating vaginal sex, but is much less effective at conveying the feel of anal sex.

The really key thing that surprised and even disoriented me was the juxtaposition of realism at my penis and the complete absence of any stimulation anywhere else. Thrusting with my back and legs in a very active way leads me to expect eyes to look into, a neck to nuzzle, arms and breasts, breathing and heaving. In the absence of these, I had to maintain an absolutely laser-like zen state of fantasy about a real person. Not just a real person, but a real person I've actually had sex with. Breaking this focus, even momentarily, caused a real loss of arousal. Even so, I have been able to experience some really intense orgasms with the DVA. Every time, though, it has demanded concentration that verges on onerous. This is a very different experience from what I have grown accustomed to expect with masturbation, either by hand or with sleeves like the Fleshlight. The final observation I have is that, after these intense orgasms, I find myself wanting to call the person I was thinking of. In fact, that is exactly what I have done on several occasions.

The peculiar characteristics of the DVA make it substantially more thought-provoking from any toy I've tried previously. More anything it has illuminated in a new way for me the fact that sex and sexuality are driven by so many internal factors we are unaware of and cannot really control. Also surprisingly, you may be able to establish a renewed friendship the ex-girlfriend you called out of the blue.
