A Recipe For Success

"Cookie Sutra" is a book written by Edward Jaye. I had not had any experience with this author before, since this is the first sensual book my wife and I have bought. I'm not really that much of an avid reader, but I do love to cook and have sex. So this book caught my eye with the awesome gingerbread couple on the front and the sexual position in the pages of the book.

There is a tiny section in the book about the author. On the back flap it says that Edward Jaye is the pseudonym of the award-winning advertising executive Ted Jendrysik. He lives with his wife in Massachusetts. We can't tell you where.

It does say in the front of the book that all the cookies baked by Edward Jaye are over the age of 21. So for you guys out there don't worry he didn't use any illegal cookies in the process of this book.

This book follows positions in the world of kama sutra, while making it fun with gingerbread couples. The book starts out by telling the origin of where the idea came from. The author states that the following pages are part of a manuscript, which was unearthed in a remote archaeological expedition. The pages were discovered in the kitchen of what was once the beautiful home of a very wealthy individual. Almost nothing is known of the original author, or the date of this ancient text, but the wisdom contained within is without question. It also says that the author has spent the last two years translating this text, so that others can read the pleasures of cookie sutra.

The cookie sutra is a very simple writing style and isn't hard to understand. If it wasn't a sexual book and didn't contain images of unclothed gingerbread couples. It could just be turned into a child's book. There is a little description about every position and within every description comes a twist related to cookies. There are four sections in this book: getting ready, postures one, postures two, and postures three. Each level contains harder positions as you progress into the book. It is a short book to read containing only 60 pages, but the cookies and the words make this humorous book so enticing.



The beginning of the book starts out with things to get you ready for your sensual night. Some of those things include grooming, perfuming, and massaging. Then the book moves into basic positions like splitting of a bamboo, the pair of tongs, and the snake trap. The book then movies into positions that stimulate the imagination, stir the senses, and inflame the appetite. Some of those positions are the congress of a cow (because cows are sacred), pounding the spot, and the tripod. Then moving to the last section of the book are for the most adventurous cookies. The positions consist of race of the member, the suspended congress, and the autumn dog. I don't want to give pictures into the positions, only because I don't want to give everything away about the book.

The book is laid out in four different sections, each of them colored differently. The color sections in this book start at purple, then a light blue, then pink, and the last section is yellow. The gingerbread cookies are also very well displayed, as they stick out on every page and look so wonderfully constructed. Also, with every picture there comes a thought or a way of describing how the gingerbread compares to a sexual position.

I am not a book expert, but I think this book is quality at its best. The pages are thicker and don't seem to be made from the paper most books are. The pages are thicker and heavier so they will not tear easily. The binding is very sold and strong. It can actually be difficult to hold this book open. Along with the color schemes I had previously talked about this book is top notch. I would have no problem buying more books made like this and would even feel safer knowing they will hold up.

The only thing that threw me off guard, but only because I just saw the picture and didn't read the size description, is the size. The book is almost 7 inches in length and about 1/4 inch thick. For some reason just seeing the picture I expected a bigger book. I had also expected this book to be hardback, but that is alright since the quality of the material is still good.

The book was a great read and as I read it to my wife, I thought the images and ideas were very interesting. The images are humorous, which just makes this book even better. Even though it is a short read I recommend this book, as it's a good enjoyment. I want a second book and the author should continue with the gingerbread theme. I almost forgot to mention, at the back of the book, there is a gingerbread cookie recipe. We didn't try it yet, but it looks like a very simple recipe to follow.
