About author

It's nice because she has the "been there done that" attitude. She's been a stripper and is a stay at home mom and housewife, so she knows it from both sides.

She writes in a very practical no-nonsense way, but also in a way that everybody can understand. No fancy words or specific analogies; it's very unlikely that you'll not understand something says.

Content / Style / Audience

The book is designed for the busy housewife. I don't really see how this works better for housewives than any other; it's really good for anybody who's busy. I wish she would have included something about incorporating learning moves with housework or something; the title and way the book is marketed seems like this would be something they'd have included in the book.

Mainly the book talks about getting over the hangups we all have about getting naked and strutting around and dancing and stripping. She talks a lot about the fact that sometimes you just have to not thin about it and do it.

At the end of the book Miyoko does give some specific moves. There are cartoon-ish drawings to show them as well as rather well written directions for how to do it.

My favorite part of the book is where she talks about the fact that we need to stop being ashamed of our pussy's and just start loving them. Look at them, touch them and show them off. She does a good job talking and describing how we need to just love our bodies the way they are; that we have nothing to be ashamed of. It's quite empowering in such a small book!

Design

The book is surprisingly small. It's one where even knowing it's physically small you're still surprised when you get it and see just how small it is. It's square and about 5" x 5" and 60 pages. It's not at all discreet; on the front it says in large letters "Practical Striptease" so unless you're really open it's not one to leave lying around if you have company over.

It has 4 main sections:
- The Fantasy
- Getting Started
- The Moves
- Getting Your Grove On

Through these she works you in an appropriate order through why we want to strip, finding an outfit, she gives great music suggestions, talks a bit about men stripping, she goes into our fears and even talks about personal hygiene and genital shaving.

Miyoko is no-nonsense which is nice. The text is interspersed with semi-comical cartoonish drawings and has some quotes from strippers (though there's no credits to who said them so it could be here own quotes).

Personal comments

I read this book in less than half an hour. It's an easy read and I was really very happy with the book. The first few pages gave me a very sour taste in my mouth; I don't like at all how she described why men like strippers. Though what she says is true in most cases, I just don't like her tone; the way things were phrased, words she used. However, it is totally worth getting past that!

Her straight forward manner of speaking, the laymens terms and the care she took to ensure that she was speaking plainly and in a way that someone who isn't familiar with stripping would understand what she wrote.

It's perfect for a beginner! But not for someone experienced with stripping.

I had this book too - I loved it. It was surprisingly good for being so short.

@Mistress Kay - Actually, it was your review of it that convinced me it was worthwhile

i think this book is better as a gift someone who might someday be interested in striptease or a very general introduction to striptease. The book is pretty short and at times I really disliked the tone of the writing
