Playing With Fire is a collaboration of short erotic stories that is edited by Alison Tyler and published by Cleis Press. The compilation consists of heat, in all forms. From sexual heat to fire itself, making me sweat myself through a few of them.
The book consists of: The introduction, The stories, About the authors and About the editors. There are 22 stories that vary greatly. They are written by men and women, including our own Kristina Wright. They cover different genres including random hook-ups, married people, BDSM, mythological twists, a little something for all readers. Desire, betrayal and best of all some seriously hot sex.
A couple of the stories I liked best:
Carrying A Torch by Sophia Valenti- A womans torment desiring and wanting her lovers girlfriend.
Where There's Smoke by Kristina Wright- A story of betrayal and fantasy between a husband and wife.
Flick That Bic by J.D. Waters- A story of female domination that will get your blood boiling.
Fanning The Flames by Andrea Dale- A story about a sexy bodyguard with a twist.
Scorched by Janine Ashbless- If you can't have a threesome between friends, what can you do?
Just Add Water by M. Murphy- A little shower voyeurism.
For the most part, these stories are well written and short enough to get you in the right mood for partner play or solo play. I love to lay in bed with my husband and read short stories aloud before we progress to our own play. A lot of times we will incorporate what we have just read into our own sexual experiences.
There are a couple in the book that I really could have lived without but that is open to interpretation. What I like may not be what the next reader likes. All in all this is a great variety of stories that I am fairly certain everyone who reads it will find some of them that you can personally relate to and delve into feet first.
