Ideas n' More
This is a great book for couples stuck in a sexual rut. It is filled with ideas that should get you thinking of other things to do. It gives a taste of things to explore and look further into as you try the ideas and find what works for you.

Pros
tasteful, travel friendly, good for beginners
Cons
not detailed, not advanced
"The Little Bit Naughty Book of Sex" arrived in a small box in a plastic bag, so the elements would not damage the book even if they managed to get through the box. This is always a good thing when there is snow on the ground. The book itself is a 4" x 6" hardback book. The cover has a glossy finish. The pages are thick with a matte finish. They feel like they are high quality.
The book is divided into six sections: Foreword, Foreplay, Games, Hot Positions, Toys, and Index. The foreword suggests that the sex lives of couples can get boring. This book has suggestions to make it more interesting with an idea for everyone.
The chapter "Foreplay" does not offer any new information, but it points out that flirting and kissing are a form of foreplay. It also suggests massages, mutual self masturbation, and masturbation of the partner. I did not think any of this was new, but I think the point of this chapter was to get the reader thinking of other things they might do for foreplay.
The next chapter is "Games". There are a variety of ideas in this chapter ranging from elaborate to simple. The first suggestion is dressing up and role playing, followed by bondage, then submission and domination. Then there are ideas for things to do using household items like ice cream or an ice cube. All of the ideas listed in this section have a brief overview of what they are, why they're exciting, and fun to try. For example, in the submission and domination section, it gives a brief history of it and how to get started with it, but it does not elaborate on techniques.
The chapter on "Hot Positions" does not have anything completely unheard of everything is just a slight variation on the standard positions meant to change the angle and depth of penetration. The author does a pretty good job of explaining the position and how to make it work. The pictures that go with some of the descriptions help too.
The last chapter is "Toys". The author does a good job of covering the range of toys and explaining what they are and how they work. The author does not talk about the different materials however. This is somewhat unfortunate since I think the quality of a toy can indicate what kind of feel the toy will have overall.
At the end of the toy section, there are also a couple of pages on sexual health and safety which is always a good thing to have. It's accurate, concise, and not at all preachy.
Overall, I would say that this is an excellent book for couples who don't typically do something out of the ordinary, who are maybe stuck in a sexual rut. It does have some good ideas and should get the couple thinking. Additionally, it has tasteful photographs that add to the text, and explain the text visually very well. The "Hot Positions" chapter would probably be most useful to most couples, just because there's probably a variation of the standard positions. I would really like to try the "hanging monkey" position. In this position the man is on his knees leaning back, and the woman is straddling him with her back to him. It's a variation on doggy, but it looks like it could be a good position that won't tire either partner out too quickly. Everything in the book can be used by both hetero and homosexual couples, though the photos are only of hetero couples.

Follow-up commentary

I can't wait to have a partner to go through this book with him. Chances are that will be this year. I think it will be a good way to get started on a conversation on things both of us would like to try with the other. It's classy; it's to the point; it has a nice overview, so I don't have to explain the things with which he is unfamiliar. It's pretty perfect for heterosexual couples.
