Tango? Yes please!

For those who like Tango here is a compilation you must get. It doesn't have the most classic songs in it but it contains a few interesting traditional songs as well as some fun twists on more recent songs, although from 2004. The CD lasts a long time so once you put it in, it is unlikely you will hear all the songs by the end of your sexcapades.

Content / Genre / Audience

Aubade: Lecon de Tango is a compilation of Tango music. Aubade, from what I gather is a French lingerie brand and they decided to create a selection of tango songs for those who appreciate this type of music.

There are a total of 16 songs on the disc. There are songs that are more traditional, where as others are electronic mixes, which are more recent but still sound quite beautiful with the accordian.

Tango is a very sensual dance, very passionate. This music is an ode to that type of dance. It is very sultry and seductive. It sets the mood quite nicely. If you are not sure if this CD is for you then you should listen to tango music online first to see if you like this type of music before you order this.

Performance / Quality

The sound is very good. All the songs have their unique style. Some are more instrumental some are more focused on the accordian as the main instrument while others are the type you would hear in a bar, like the electronic mixes.

Although some songs are different in tone the songs follow smoothly in their order. Some have a quicker tempo and are followed by a slightly slower song. It keeps you guessing.

The songs are all set at an equal volume, so although some might have higher pitched instruments, you won't have to worry about looking for the remote to put the volume down. The volume never gets annoying.

Design / Packaging / Features

The design is very tasteful. The photography is done by Pedro Lombardi and the lingerie featured in the art is from Aubade. You don't see the faces of the models which is fine. The picture on the back of the case shows how much they went out of their way not to show the lady's face which I find sort of ruins the figure but thats just my opinion, it doesn't detract from the CD at all.

It's simple, elegent but not discreet. If you were to leave this out someone could assume that this CD is a mood setter for sex.

The insert that contains the names of the songs can actually be opened up and set out to be a poster. It is very lovely but I prefer leaving it in it's case.
    • Attractive design
    • Not very discreet packaging
Follow-up commentary
I have started listening to this CD more for auditory pleasure while doing things around the appartment more than for our intimate momments. We enjoyed listening to it a few times but I don't think about putting music for sex and neither does my partner, we just have sex on a whim so the music began to take the back burner.

So for now, I enjoy the music as relation music and don't use it for it's intended purpose.

Wow, I had no idea Eden even carried any type of music selection at all! I wish there was a brief excerpt of each piece, kind of like how Amazon does it, so that you could make a more informed decision before buying.

Thanks for your feedback everyone, I agree with you Selective Sensualist. I'm not very techy so I'm not sure how I could have done something like that. But just by looking at the song titles onthe back of the album or doig an online search you can get an idea of the songs that are on the CD.

Great review. I wish there were a sample of this. Could you make a video review so we could hear some of the music? I know it's a bit much to ask, but it's just an idea. Spare time perhaps? Or better yet, Eden Fantasys could do the work for us one day!
