The Magazine of Oral Sex Books

Here is a quick read for those of you who want a little more info on oral sex. It is not a how-to on going down because there just aren't enough details, but it will probably tell you something you haven't thought of before. Unless you have a lot of experience and then I say read this only for the pictures (and erotic stories at the end).

About author

I have never read a book by these authors before, but they seem very cool. Ian and Alicia Denchasy are a married couple who run a website that reviews sex toys for couples. Their writing style is conversational and makes for a light and easy read.

Content / Style / Audience

The Table of Contents reads: Know Your Subject, Readiness and Grooming, Sensual Anatomy 101, Cunnilingus, Fellatio, Sex Toys and Aids, Places and Poses for Going Down, Protection and Expanding Your Repertoire, Sensual Message, A New Approach to Oral Sex, Oral Erotic Stories, Resources for Going Down.

The book reads like a magazine, you can fly through it, but don't expect lengthy detail in any one area. In the Introduction Ian and Alicia explain that there are many books on oral sex and how to do it, so in writing this book they are going beyond basic techniques and talking about everything related to oral sex as well. With a focus on oral sex, they talk about grooming, using scents and smells, sensual messages, and Tantric sex.

This book is full of great little tidbits - for example, did you know that "in 2003, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down the Lawrence et al. v. Texas decision, which effectively overrides most state laws against sodomy , making non-procreative acts of sex free from categorization as a crime"?

If your the kind of person looking for a lot of random knowledge or just some new and interesting things to add to your repertoire, or you like to read about oral sex on a lazy Sunday, this might be just the book for you! However, if you are looking for detailed instructions on how to go down, look for a different book.

Design

The book is somewhat pleasing in its layout and design. It has very beautiful pictures, but they are a bit too stereotypical for my tastes. The entire book is filled with pictures of one couple: a white man with huge muscles and blond hair, and a white skinny woman with hair down to her ass and long fake fingernails. Not exactly the kind of woman (or man) I go for. Not much diversity to be found here! Speaking of diversity, the book recycles pictures! That's right, at one point I started seeing the same pictures again. This, in my opinion, lowers the quality of the book. I don't want to re-read text, and I don't want to look at the same pictures again! However, there are a lot of pictures, so don't worry, you will probably get your fill anyway.

Personal comments

One thing that I had a hard time with is the grooming section of this book. It tells you many ways to shave your pubic hair but not ways to keep your pubic hair clean and sexy. Now, I'm not experienced in oral sex, but I'd like to hope I can keep my bush and still have good oral sex, because I really love my bush. And I love women with bush. Perhaps I am a bit to liberal to fully appreciate this book, but heads up, if you are like me, you might want to skip that chapter.

There's something about the cover of this book that kinda turns me off to it. It reminds me of an 80's or 90's library book for some reason; I think maybe it's the coloring/font?

The repetition of pictures would really bother me Sad face

Glad you got something out of it, though!
