Playgirl: Steamy Seduction - dvd by Playgirl TV - review by Bon Bon

Playgirl: Steamy Seduction is intended to be a porn geared toward women. So here is what I learned about what we ladies like from watching this video:

-Women prefer watching foreplay to watching vaginal intercourse.
-Women’s first favorite position is doggie style. Their second, missionary. Anything else, we don’t want to see.
-Women do not like anal.
-Women like cum shots as much as men.
-Women appreciate penis! As well as the male form!
-Women want our porn, story style.

Actually, I was surprised with Playgirl: Steamy Seduction. I thought I would find more snarky things to say about what the Playgirl people had to say about what women like. After all, only the first two bullet points above are really a problem. That the Playgirl people decided to leave anal out seems to me like a personal preference choice, and one that I’m okay with. After all, watching anal sex is not everyone’s cup of tea.

That the camera angles often focus on the men and let the ladies ogle their penises is actually a pretty big plus, as most porn, I feel, focused on the women; in fact, in a lot of porn, the male actors aren’t exactly what you’d call eye candy. The stories involved, though sometimes reminiscent of a romance novel, weren’t a deal breaker either, seeming like another matter of personal choice. I actually felt a few of them allowed me to better connect with the sex.

Another nice detail of Playgirl: Steamy Seduction, one in which I feel they do the women-centered thing well, is that after the sex is over, the camera doesn’t cut right away. Rather it lingers on the couple, and it is in these final moments, the post-coital bliss, that I really feel the characters connect. I also appreciated that in nearly every scene, the man went down on the woman, like a true gentleman.

However, those first two points did inhibit my enjoyment of the video. I dislike the idea that women prefer watching the soft stuff more than the vaginal intercourse. I found that in most of the scenes – of which there are six – the actors spent too much time taking their clothes off, and certainly not enough time doing the nasty. That there was only scene out of all six where the woman was on top, even though each scene made sure to emphasize that the woman was in control – which I appreciated a great deal – made me kind of angry. All but one featured almost exclusively doggie style sex, with missionary coming in a close second. I strongly prefer a variety of sexual positions in my porn, just like I do in my own bed.

Now to the specifics. There are six scenes in this video, each scene between 15-30 minutes long. Each begins with a fantasy, narrated by a woman, in which the woman comes onto the man and gets what she wants. Below I’ll give you a scene-by-scene analysis.

SPOILER ALERT:

1. Bath

In this scene, the interracial couple from the cover get to it in the bathroom, after Annika, the actress in this scene, shaves Tyler Knight’s chest and face. After they each perform oral sex on the other – the Annika’s orgasm looks pretty authentic – he bends her over and fucks her doggie style; the vaginal sex takes up a tiny amount of the scene, and I felt it was over before it really began. He comes on her back.

2. Love Is Blind

Sarah Blake and her boss, Marcos Banderas, trade positions of authority once they’re in the privacy of their home. As Banderas is sleeping, Blake ties him up (very loosely) and blindfolds him. There’s a lot of teasing in this scene, but this scene is also the one in the video where I felt the woman really was in charge; not only because Banderas is tied up, but because she climbs on top of him, takes control of his body. He comes on her stomach. This couple is one of the best post-coital, as Banderas looks like he’s having a blast cuddling with Blake.

3. Fencing For Love

This scene features Anthony Hardwood and Renee Pornero as a fencing instructor and his student. Once the lesson is over, they slowly undress, and there’s some sword play. She gives him a blowjob, then they sixty-nine for a bit. In the sex scene, you can clearly see Hardwood’s condom, which I actually like in porn. They have sex on a couch, which could stand some sort of explanation for why it’s in the fencing room. Hardwood comes on the fencing mask while it is over Pornero’s face, which was one of the many moments in this video I laughed out loud. (I also wondered just how well she’d be able to get that out of the mask…)

4. Rubbing Her Down

Nick Manning plays a masseuse and Luccia plays his happy customer. While receiving a massage, Luccia daydreams a sex scene in which she meets Manning exiting a hot tub and comes onto him. I enjoyed how quickly they got naked in this scene, as well as how quickly they get to the fucking, especially after watching three scenes where the vaginal sex isn’t the main attraction. Manning gets particularly sweaty, and then comes on Luccia’s landing strip.

5. Waiting Room

Nat Turner and Cherokee sit in waiting room. Turner is a rapper and Cherokee his record label executive, never mind why they’re both sitting in the waiting room if Cherokee’s the executive. Slowly they move closer and closer, until Cherokee makes her move, goes down on him. Cherokee was the only actress in this film I felt was acting like a porn star, which for me is a negative quality; her moans were shrill and fake-sounding. You can see Turner’s condom here too. The sex in this scene is rougher than any other scene, and I found it a welcome change.

6. Rebecca!

In this final scene, the story element comes out full force. A photo montage with captions from the man’s point-of-view – a character called Jacque, played by Jean Val Jean with his Fabio looks – tells the story of a relationship ended. Val Jean is showed with a bottle of unlabeled liquor by the side of a pool, and when he passes out the audience hears a woman relating the story of giving her poor Jacque a booty call, just for one last go. The Inception of pornography. The woman here is played by Roxy DeVille. In this scene, they each take their turns going down on the other, then have sex on the couch. Condom is visible, and he comes on her breasts.
