Dona shimmer body spray - shimmer discontinued by System JO - review by underHim

The packaging of this product is probably the only redeeming feature it has. It comes in a surprisingly large glass bottle (holds 2 oz), reminiscent of a nail polis bottle with its large metal screw on cap. The bottle itself is made out of heavy glass, thankfully as it did not break when I dropped it on a hard floor. When you open the cap, it reveals a spray pump, much like most perfume bottles. The pump stuck a little at first, but after a couple of pushes it sprayed. I got the blue lotus, and it has some blue and green very fine glitter specks in it suspended in a clear liquid. It does show up nicely on the skin at night under lights, but does not really do much on my skin tone (and I am VERY white) during the day.

I was disappointed that it was not scented, I was really expecting it to be. That would have been a nice perk for this product and would recommend that they infuse some scent in it if they continue making it. It claims to be "aphrodisiac infused" however neither I nor my husband got anything out of it other than it is kinda cute (although maybe you have to actually think the aphrodisiac is going to work for it to). It seems like a kind of "young" product, so maybe that is part of my problem with it. I can imagine teenage girls using this and fantasizing they are in the twilight movies with their little crushes.

Some of the main ingredients are water, glycerin, sodium magnesium silicate, DMDM Hydantion, and a whole crap load of other things that I have no clue what they are or what they mean. I did not have any negative reactions to having it on my skin, however being as I dont know almost anything that is in it, I would really hesitate to wear it too often or go to bed without washing it off first. It is supposed to have a shelf life of 24 months once it has been opened.
