Gel Paint

Personally, I didn't like The Adult Paint Box by Topco Sales but my partner did. The flavours really didn't sit well with me, the colours don't apply evenly to the skin, the stencils are useless, and I'm not a fan of the ingredients list. This "Paint Box" should be renamed to, "coloured gel pens in a bottle" because attempting to use these as paint will just leave you disappointed.

extremely useful review
The Adult Paint Box by Topco Sales is an inexpensive set of 4 flavoured, coloured body paints. The paints arrived in a cardboard package. The front of the packaging states the product name, flavours of paints, and has a photo of the back and bum of a female with paint on her body. The back of the packaging states the same information as the front as well as the package contents and ingredients. The packaging is not discreet but it can be used for storing the paints when they are not in use. I actually keep my paints on a shelf since the box takes up more room than the paints do by themselves. The ingredients are listed on the individual bottles so it’s necessary to keep the packaging. The packaging can be recycled.

Inside of the box, the paints are sitting on a plastic tray. There is a thin paintbrush included to apply the paints to your own or your partner’s body. Also, there is a cardboard sheet (5 inches x 8 inches) with various stencil patterns in it. The patterns include stars, clouds, hearts, rainbows, and the word “Love”.

The paint bottles are 1 fl oz each and are sealed in plastic when they arrive. The colours and their corresponding flavour are as follows: blue is blueberry, yellow is banana, red is cherry, and white is pina colada. The front of the bottles state the flavour and the cap to each bottle is the colour of the paint.

The ingredients are listed on the individual bottles and are as follows: D.I Water, Glycerin, Flavor, Carbopel 934P, Aspartame, T.E.A, Potassium Sorbate, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, F.D & C Colors. You can see that the ingredient list is a bit funky. The paints should not be used internally (in your crotch), and to be safe, I wouldn’t use it around the outside of my crotch either. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Both my partner and I tasted the flavours, though he didn’t try the banana. He really liked the other three though. I made him guess all of the flavours and he got them all right. Well, for the pina colada flavour, he guessed coconut but that’s pretty close enough. I didn’t like the banana; it had a chemical taste to it. The cherry tastes like cough medicine. Some may enjoy this while others may not. The blueberry flavour is really mild. The pina colada is my favourite flavour of the four. To be honest, it’s the only flavour that I’d actually enjoy licking off my partner’s body. Clearly my partner is much easier to please in the edible product department than myself.

When we applied the paints, there were no strong scents coming from them. I could only smell the paints faintly if I put my nose right up to the area where it’s been applied. The paint is similar to a gel. There is a small hole at the top of the bottle when you take the twist-cap off. The gel dispenses from this hole and does not pour out. Remember those old glue bottles from school? The paint dispenses from the bottle like that. The gel-like consistency does not drip or run when applied to the skin. You can see this in the photo below.

When the gel is dispensed onto the skin, it sits on the top of the skin. Once the paint is brushed (with the paint brush or your finger) to paint a picture, the gel starts absorbing into the skin. I tried using the stencil included with the kit but it didn’t turn out very well. Using the brush makes the gel look uneven on the skin. The only way that this paint ends up looking nice with strong colour is when you draw the picture or word on the skin directly from the bottle. So really, it’s not a good “paint”. It’s a much better “coloured pen” in bottle form. The first photo below is of the stencil, and the second photo shows how the colour is light and absorbs when I attempted to brush it.

Experience
...continued

The gel does not become sticky, nor does it dry like regular paint would. I wiped off the paints from my hand with a napkin (no water). The colour came off without staining the skin and there was no residue or sticky feeling left on the skin. It can easily be cleaned off with soap and water as well.

Overall, I’m not impressed. I only can tolerate one of the flavours out of four, the vibrancy of the paint colours diminish when you try brushing the colour in, and the stencils are useless. The one positive thing about the kit is that it’s inexpensive. However, my partner likes the kit quite a bit. He likes all three of the flavours that he had tried and said that he would give the kit 5 stars. I’ve given the kit 3 stars because I personally didn’t enjoy it but my partner loved it.
Follow-up commentary
We haven't used these since the review and I don't plan on it. It's really a shame that they are more of a gel than a paint because the price is good for the set.

I like that you included pictures. This just doesn't seem worth 14 bucks at all. I don't think I would like the flavors either, I'm VERY picky.

SinDoll, what kind of parties? Sounds interesting!

Zombirella, I'm usually not that picky with flavours but when they taste chemically, I can't enjoy them.
