Lover's thong - crotchless panties by Cal Exotics - review by kttynblurbs

G-strings are not usually something I'm a fan of, but the Lover's Thong from Cal Exotics is one I can actually get into in more ways than one! The Lover's Thong is made of Nylon, which I particularly like because it is a hypo-allergenic, vegan material and is easy on my sensitive skin. Additionally the product is made of an unspecified kind of plastic bead designed to resemble pearls. There are both black pearls and white pearls on this particular Cal Exotics thong. Holding the pearls together is a bit of elastic cord. I'm no expert on materials, but to me it looks like the Lover's Thong is made of elastic, though that's not necessarily a drawback.

The maker claims that the beads will heighten sexual experience by providing extra sensitivity for her and a shaft massage for him during sex. Whoohoo!!! Less work for me! The description also says that the product is a one size fits all thong, which it truly is! As a plus size girl, I absolutely love that this thong is 100% adjustable to fit the slimmest or the most luscious of goddesses, as well as everyone in between. It has the same type of adjusting mechanisms that are found on bra straps, but rather than just lengthening or shortening in one direction, it can be adjusted to be larger or smaller around the hips as well as longer or shorter in the back.

I couldn't help but feel a little sexier while wearing it. It fit great after I adjusted it to the proper size for me, and was very comfortable. I'm not quite sure how to pair it with an outfit though. The product itself is so minimal that wearing it with anything else would detract from it, as far as my closet goes. One of the ways in which I think it could be improved to work better with other clothing would be to make it lacy, but in doing so it's quite probable that the one size fits all feature would be lost.

The thong came encased in a plastic bag inside of a cardboard box that is entirely too big for the size of the product once it's been put into the plastic bag, though the box itself is not very large at all (approx 6” x 4”). There is a safety warning on one of the side panels of the box that reads “This product is intended for use as a novelty product only. Any product use for medical purposes or for a use that has an adverse effect on any function of the body is prohibited.” I have no idea what they mean by that last sentence, but the point is that they want you to be safe when using their product and not use if for any reason other than it's intended purpose. Within the umbrella of safe use of the product the box also instructs users to “Wash before and after each use” and to “Always use a lubricant with this product for maximum pleasure.” However, the lubricant may not be totally necessary for some users, and may make cleaning more difficult. But do use lube if you need to or want to. It's better to have a smooth ride than not!

Speaking of cleaning, the main material, Nylon, makes cleaning a breeze. Nylon offers good resistance to oils, greases and solvents. It is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, as well as having a high abrasion and weathering resistance. It can be washed in sudsy water, but never use scouring powder. I even threw mine in the washing machine with a load of laundry! You should put it in a lingerie bag or a pillow case with the end tied off so that the beads don't scratch the inside of the machine and so that it doesn't get tangled around anything, which would make it more prone to breaking in the machine. (It is also a good idea to do this with your bras!) I happen to be out of lube at the moment, and thus haven't tried to clean it from between the beads, so I am not sure how difficult that is to do. And I don't recommend putting anything that has silicone based lube on it into your washing machine as it may stain fabrics.

Overall I give this product a 3 out of 5. It's sexy and comfortable which gives a little boost of confidence to strut your stuff. It also works great in the jewelry department. Pearls look great around the neck or as a bracelet on a wrist and they can look great framing other spots. However, since I didn't get the extra sensitivity on a “normal” day I'm not convinced that it holds up to this claim.

I wore the Lover's Thong around the house for about half an hour. I did not find that it pinched while walking and sitting, or wedged it's way to where I didn't want it as I have found other g-strings to do. When I first tried getting that bit of "extra sensitivity" I didn't experience anything. But a week later when I put the thong on again I had much better results. This is probably due to the fact that my hormones were going crazy as it was getting close to that dreaded time of the month. So, long story story short I was able to use just the beads by rolling them back and forth over my more sensitive spots to get off in the same amount of time, and with the same amount of effort as I would with just about anything else that doesn't vibrate or come attached to a man.
So let's recap on the experience front: When my hormones aren't going crazy I don't get much out of this product other than as a bit of sexy clothing. When my hormones are going nuts, then it works relatively good to get that bit of release when needed.
