Lovely and Luxurious

I'd highly recommend this sugar scrub, especially to anyone with rough and dry skin. It is a nice exfoliant and the natural oils that it contains are wonderfully moisturizing. While I'm not convinced that the added pheromones made me any more sexually appealing, I certainly felt sexy after using it.

Use

Love in Luxury Sugar Polish is a pheromone enhanced, sugar scrub. Pheromones are chemicals that the body naturally excretes, and are thought to enhance your sex appeal, among other things. This product is best suited for bath or shower use. It seems more geared toward female users and although it wouldn't be harmful to male users, I suspect most would dislike the fruity, feminine smell.

The product is easy to use; simply dip your fingers into the tub of product and apply to desired areas of the body. The granular, gritty texture of the scrub works to exfoliate the skin, while the oils in the scrub get left behind to moisturize.

It is wonderful to use on the legs before shaving as the scrub buffs away dead skin. It enables you to get a nice, close shave. However, the scrub may irritate freshly shaved skin, so use accordingly. In addition, this product is for external use only.

Do not use if you are sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients:
Sucrose, Isopropyl Palmitate, Carthamis Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Silica, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) butter, Cocos Nuciefera (coconut) oil, Macadamia ternifolia seed oil, prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) kernel oil, Simmmondisa Chinsis (jojoba) seed oil, Reconstitued Andronone, Copulandrone, Copuline-alike, Laureth-4, Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (parfum)

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the scrub is gritty, like granulated table sugar. It does not pour from the container, you need to use your fingers to apply the product. The texture changes varying on the amount of scrub that you use. If you use a lot it feels grittier, and if you use a smaller amount, the granules get dispersed with the oils in the product making for a more gentle exfoliation.

After the granules rinse off, the skin is left feeling oily and slightly greasy. For me, this was not a problem, as most of the slick feeling went away after towel drying and my skin was left feeling soft and so moisturized. If you're the type of person that needs to feel squeaky clean after bathing, this may not be for you. If you are used to moisturizing, especially if you've ever used oils on your skin, the after feeling isn't likely to bother you.

The scrub is extremely thick, I can turn the tub upside down completely, and none of the product comes out. It stays put on the body, until it is massaged in.

Taste / Aroma

The smell of this product is, in my opinion, heavenly. It's labeled as Morrocan Fusion and the label describes the scent as "a medley of exotic Mangosteen, Acai, sweet musk, crisp coconut and red currant and a whisper of white lily."

Personally, I found it hard to pick out individual scents, but would describe it as very sweet and fruity, like a lovely, exotic, fruit punch.

The smell is very strong; I used this scrub in the bathtub and it quickly filled the tub and bathroom with its aroma. I could smell the scent lingering on my skin for hours afterwards, though it was much more of a subtle and subdued version than when in use.

Performance

As a body scrub, this performs really well. The texture is enough to exfoliate so nicely, without being so rough that it irritates the skin. I love that my skin stays scented and moisturized for hours, and for me, a little bit of the product goes a long way.

As far as the pheromones as a sex attractant, I couldn't say that I got any more positive attention than usual. I did feel sexier personally. Nothing makes me feel sexy like a relaxing bath, and I really enjoy being able to skip the step of slathering on moisturizer after a bath or shower.

If I could change one thing about this scrub, I would remove the beeswax. There are so many moisturizing oils that the beeswax is a little much. Especially when used in the tub, a waxy residue can get left behind which is a little off-putting.

Packaging

The scrub comes in a plastic 4 oz. tub container. The lid is a screw on top, it is easy to use and secures the contents against leaks. The labeling is fairly discreet. From a distance, it looks like a regular bath or beauty product. But if you read the small print, it does say "for the sensual connoisseur" and that the product is "infused with a pheromone sex attractant."

As far as traveling, the 4 oz. container is too large to fly with, but by other modes of transportation, it should be fine. The lid screws on securely and should prevent any spillage. To be extra safe, you could put the container inside a plastic bag.

Experience

While I didn't have high expectations of the pheromones, I was surprised that this scrub made me feel so sexy. Maybe it was the little extra "me " time in the bath, or perhaps it was the light, sweet scent that my body stayed perfumed with. Mostly, I think it helped me feel more confident with my smooth and moisturized skin. I live in the North East, where we have been experiencing a cold and brutal winter. My skin has been showing it, especially on my legs. This "body polish" definitely made me look more polished. It buffed away my flaky skin, and I've noticed a huge improvement in the overall moisture level of my skin.

Although I fantasized that my boyfriend would think I smelled amazing, and that the pheromones would subliminally make him want to ravish me with lust, he noticed nothing different.
Follow-up commentary
I wish there was an option to say, "It's not that I don't like this anymore, I just like it less than my initial impression." On one hand, I DID use the entire container, loved the way it smelled and how it exfoliated. However, I noticed that as I used the scrub more that the waxy feeling was pretty off putting, especially when the weather started to warm up and my skin was not quite as dry and flaky.

In the future, I will be on the search for a sugar scrub to add to my beauty regimen. I just don't think it will be this one.

Thank-you! I wanted to include that because this product contains so many oils from natural sources that are good for the skin. They're also more of the main ingredients in the scrub
