Simple But Chic

If you have a medium skin tone with olive under tones this palette may not quite work as hoped, you will find that you get a very neutral and natural look with this palette. Fairer skinned ladies may get more oomph out of this palette.

I am a minimal kind of girl in my make up, and decided that perhaps everything in one palette would be helpful on days when I thought I would actually put some effort into looking good. This is a nice, small, wallet sized pallet that can easily be slipped into a small purse in case you need to freshen your look up. It has a small, magnetic closure that keeps the palette closed so that there is no accidental spillage in your purse.

Included in this palette are two shade of blush, one pinker toned the other browner toned. I found the blushes very neutral for either a cool or warm based skin tone and that by mixing the two I got a really pretty color. The blushed blended well and went on nice and evenly. The only down side to the palette is the lack of an actual brush to apply the said blush with.

The lip gloss came in three shades, ranging from a plummy color all the way to a pink. I found that they were very sheer, so there is little concern about applying the wrong color. They had nice shades, were easily blended with one another, and had just the right hint of shimmer. My only complaint is that the lip color was a little on the gummy, pasty side in texture and I often felt like my lips were sticking together.

The eye shadow colors are hard to see in the picture, but they range from a plum color (the darkest) to a champagne color (the lightest). I tend to have a decent tan year round from living in the desert and found that the shades were hard to see on my skin. They did give a nice natural "no make up" kind of look, but nothing as dramatic as I had hoped. The shadows do go on fairly sheer and do not have a dramatic pigment content. They do have a nice shimmer base and, if you spend some time layering, you will get more color. I did find that the staying power was not there, I only got about 4 hours wear time before I needed to reapply.
Follow-up commentary
I still like the eye shadow and the blush, but as time has gone on the lip colors have gotten even stickier, if that is possible. I still use this palette at least once a week.

My wife has a skin tone similar to yours, so it sounds like this wouldn't work for her, either. Moot point, I guess, since it's discontinued. But thanks for a good, concise review.
