Smells Of Sea, Men, and Semen

Kama Sutra's Luxury Bathing Gel, in Ocean, smells a little strange but is otherwise a decent bathing gel that does not stand out from typical drug store liquid bathing gel in its cleaning abilities.
Published:
Pros
A decent liquid soap that does its job and looks pretty in the process.
Cons
The smell is strange and unfortunate, the soap doesn't lather well.

Use

Kama Sutra's "Luxury Bathing Gel" is, as the name implies, a product that is intended to be used as liquid body soap for bath or shower time. It would certainly do well doubling as a hand soap, however, but that's really its full range. As liquid body soaps go, this one is presented in an attractive bottle with a pump top and a stable base making it very stylish as well as functional and I dare say - a little sexy to boot. Because after all, don't you deserve more than just an ugly, nondescript, hard to squeeze and tippy body gel in your shower?

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Luxury Bathing Gel is a little thin as bathing gels go, and is definitely a "liquid" soap. On the plus side, this makes it extremely easy to dispense with its pump top, but in general it is nothing to get excited about. Being thin it is a little runny, so if you happen to take a dollop to later up in your hands instead of on a shower puff, it tries to run through fingers and down your wrist. The soap lathers up a normal amount for a liquid bathing soap you'd buy at a drug store, which is disappointing because when I think luxury in regards to a bathing gel I certainly expect a thick lather.

Taste / Aroma

This stuff smells strange, there's no two ways about it. Its a masculine scent, but then again, it's not overly male like one would expect from a product marketed to men. It does not smell pretty or flirty or even really crisp or refreshing - the scent is heavy and kind of reminiscent of the scent on your skin after a day at the beach. But just barely. And to be honest, my partner and I both agree that it smells of semen, sort of...like something in the scent profile of this soap is a little ripe-fresh-funky in that cum kind of way.

Now in all seriousness - no, this does NOT actually smell of semen...but then again it's not UNLIKE semen. I do not think that the perfume compounds used to make this "Ocean" scent include gems like spermidine, but there's something about the scent that just plain reminds me of cum. So, basically, this luxury bathing gel that is called ocean smells of sea, men, and semen. In approximately that order. And perhaps that could make it sexy to some folks, who knows, but it doesn't work for me.

Performance

The soap worked as well as one would expect - it cleans off a days dirt and grime and leaves you smelling "clean" (or rather, like sea, men and semen). The formulation is decently moisturizing, and leaves the skin feeling soft and cared for (not tight and flaky), which is always a bonus. It does not foam up too aggressively, so you need a quarter sized amount (which is a few pumps) on your puff to do a full body rub down.

Special Features

Unfortunately, this Luxury Bathing Gel contains parabens as a preservative. This is a bit of a bummer as they are an allergen for some folks, but in the whole scheme of things they don't really hang out on the skin so long - the product is a soap that washes away after all.

What a weird sounding smell for a bath gel! I dunno if I want to smell like cum. Maybe I'll try the citrus instead!

I'm surprised the scent is not lovely. I love most Kama Sutra flavours/scents so this is sad to hear!
