Soft lips-Sensitive Nipples-Breastfeeding moms! Its a CURE ALL!

I love this balm. This line of lip treatment products is awesome and I highly recommend them to ANYONE guy or girl. My husband also uses this (its peppermint, so he doesn't get all weird-ed out by the girly factor) and he loves it just as much. Soft lips, plumper pout, feels great! Even a tad bit of tingle to it.

extremely useful review
I can't say enough good things about this balm. The whole set really. But this balm has me reaching for it all the time! It sits out on my table while I am at the computer and I randomly, throughout the day, will take just a dab and apply. Its a great "refresher" and the peppermint scent/flavor is very invigorating!

I received the peppermint Moisturizing Lip balm from Bella Il Fiore. I often have dry and cracked lips. Especially in the winter time. So, when I seen this product, I knew that I had to have it! I love peppermint because of its healing properties and it just "feels nice".

The Peppermint Moisturizing lip balm comes in a small, thick plastic jar. The jar has a black screw off lid (does not leak/have issues screwing back on or anything). The jar is filled with a very tightly packed balm. I had to press firmly with my finger in order to "break" the packed balm. After applying some pressure and swirling my finger inside the balm, I noticed that it almost "melted" on my finger. So, needless to say, you will need VERY little to apply and be effective. I would say that this balm will probably last me about three or four months if I use it daily.

Tech Specs:
Volume: 1 fl.oz.
Weight: 0.8 oz
Ingredients: Carthamus, (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Beeswax, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Simmondsia Chinenses (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)

The scent/flavor of this balm is peppermint and boy does it SCREAM peppermint! It reminds me of those round, white and red peppermint hard candies or a candy cane. Its very strong. Though, it may be too strong for some. It definitely cleared my sinuses! But, I like my beauty products to have a very potent smell/feel to them. It means that there is A LOT of those ingredients in them and it also helps to make me "feel" clean and beautified.

I found that this balm doesn't dry out my lips like normal chap stick. Most of the time, You will need to reapply chap stick throughout the day several times in order to keep your lips from drying out or becoming cracked. This is not the case with this balm. Which is really nice, because that means that I will not have to "re-up" on this product for a while yet.

This balm is small enough to fit into any purse, diaper bag or other small areas to have on hand. Very travel friendly and the lid doesn't leak or "mismatch" when you screw it on. Jar is a heavy duty plastic too.

You can also get this balm in "Strawberry Creme" and as a set with the scrub & the balm. (Personally, I highly recommend the set, you save money AND the scrub is awesome too!)

As far as I go, I will definitely be ordering this again when I run out. I would also recommend this for a great bridal shower gift for your participants in the wedding! Give it as a bridal gift to the bride, mothers day, birthday etc. The packaging is very elegant and screams "taste"!
Experience
I noticed that after using this balm, my lips were not only very soft, but they also felt a little "plumper" or fuller too! Kissing my husband after using the balm, he could definitely feel a softness and plumper lip as well. My lips actually LOOKED a little plumper as well.

Another note: You can use this on your nipples! GREAT nipple sensitizing balm! Because of the peppermint being a tingly type balm, this would work great on nipples with a gentle blow! Increase your sensitivity AND they'll taste good! If you breastfeed, use it for healing dry, cracked nipples! I would definitely use it long before a "session" with your baby or pumping though and make sure to wipe off any excess just in case. Im not sure how "baby safe" this stuff is, so just make sure to wipe it off.
Follow-up commentary
This lip treatment has been wonderful! I want to add though, due to a comment that was left via P'Gell...thank you for the information. I know that I have used products like this before, without problems while breastfeeding, but from what I hear, this product is not safe for this? Of course, if you have questions, you can always consult your doctor/lactation consultant. I was simply suggesting that it might be good for this. You MAY be able to use the strawberry creme for this? Since it does not have peppermint? Then again, I would consult a doctor before using this product in such a manner. As for my lips, I have used this product almost every day since I received it and I will definitely be reordering this for myself and several of my friends!

This ointment is NOT baby safe!!!!

Cocoa, peppermint and Vitamin E are not acceptable for breastfeeding ointments. About 15 years ago, it was found that infants whose mothers used Vitamin E as a nipple balm had babies who had an UNSAFE amount of lipid bound Vitamin E in their systems. It is essentially toxic to babies. Cocoa is a stimulant and could harm babies, as is peppermint.

As a Lactation Consultant I would NEVER suggest the use of this balm for mothers who are breastfeeding infants. You have to be VERY careful that ll the ingredients are acceptable for pediatric use before suggesting someone use it in this way.

These suggestions raise a red flag IMO.

I would like to add from P'Gell's comment that I agree-After looking into these claims that she had made, I would have to agree with her. This item is not baby safe. Im not sure how to change my post to reflect this Thank you P'gell for informing me of this! I had given my sister in law (who is breastfeeding) a set of this and let her know what you had said. Luckily, she hadn't had her baby until after I had warned her of the negative effects. Thanks again for watchin' out! (I just hope that others read the comments as well as the review!)
