Wicked arousal gel - gel discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by indiglo

I decided to try this product on a whim, with a larger order. The price was low enough that I thought it was worth the risk. The tube comes in the exact packaging that is pictured (a cardboard backing with a plastic bubble around it) and before I even took it out of the package it smelled very strongly of cinnamon. It actually made the entire box from EF smell like cinnamon. This was not unpleasant for me, since I like cinnamon, but if you are sensitive to strong smells, it may bother you.

I have not been able to find a complete list of ingredients in this lube anywhere. I do believe it is a water based gel, but the packaging does not list the ingredients, and I have been unable to find a complete list online either. So, if you are sensitive to any chemicals that may be in lubricants (parabens, etc.), I would advise you to stay away from this, because there is much left unknown.

The tube does not leak, and the cap is easy to remove and put back on. The first thing I did after taking the lid off was to taste a little. I could tell from the very strong cinnamon smell that it would be potent, and it did make the tip of my tongue a little numb. It tastes like very strong Big Red gum, if you're familiar with that, but it isn't sweet at all. The taste (and the numbing tongue affects) were not particularly pleasant.

Since it seemed so strong, I decided the safest place to first use the gel was my nipples. It was VERY tingly and I enjoyed it, though it was borderline too strong even for nipple use. But I decided to forge ahead anyway! When applied around my clitoris, it was cool at first application, but quickly began to warm and tingle. It became way too hot very, very quickly and really burned. I was having a romantic encounter with my man, and this product did not help. It was very painful, and I could not get it off quickly enough. I grabbed a rag and started carefully wiping it off (I was really afraid of spreading it around and making it burn more and in other areas!) After wiping it off completely, I was still rather sensitive and uncomfortable. We were able to go on and enjoy ourselves, but no thanks to this product, and only after I took a while to recover from it. It was VERY unpleasant and painful. (I wouldn't get this ANYWHERE even close to my bum, I can't imagine the pain!)

A few weeks later, my man decided to give it a try. (Once we had recuperated from our previous attempt.) He assumed his penis would be less sensitive to the gel than my clit. As we got romantic, he applied some of the gel. (I reminded him to only apply a very SMALL amount just in case it burned.) He also found it unbearable. It burned him just as much as it burned me, and was extremely painful. He had to wipe it off immediately, and was nearly unable to continue. Seriously, it almost ruined him for the night!

I think this product is going to be very hit and miss. It is going to be far too intense for some people, while I imagine there will be some people who will like it. (I find that hard to believe, after it was so awful for us, but I feel pretty sure it must be true.) But, just be careful. We have no way of knowing what all is in there, and the burning gets pretty intense pretty quickly. If you know that you generally enjoy the warming gels, you may enjoy this one. If you generally prefer cooling gels, this will probably be way too hot for you.

All in all, I can't recommend this product. Without being certain what all the ingredients are it just doesn't seem safe to recommend. But, if you aren't generally sensitive to chemicals in lubricants, and are interested in trying something new that doesn't cost much (and you are fond of pain) you can give this a try. At least we both learned we don't like warming gels!

There was just no salvaging this purchase. Neither my man nor I could use it; we both found it really excruciatingly painful. I think its best use might be as a room air freshener, since it has such a strong cinnamon smell. We tossed the little tube since we can't use it. The good thing is that it didn't cost much, so I'm not out much money.
