Penis ring with clit stimulator discontinued

Fifty Shades of Meh

This would be an ideal first toy experience for a couple, but due to the low powered bullet, it's going to get out-grown quickly. It's also not tight enough to be very restrictive unless you're larger than average, so it won't be able to offer many of the added benefits of a cock ring to the wearer. In total, this works for the target market (newbie couples inspired by the books), but if you have tried toys before you probably should look elsewhere.

Use

The Yours and Mine is a vibrating cock ring from the Fifty Shades of Grey line put out by Lovehoney. This line is supposed to cater to people who are fairly inexperienced and looking to spice up their sex lives (though there also are a few things that would work for experienced users.)

Cock rings are meant to go over either your shaft or both the balls and shaft. For a loose, comfortable fit this toy can go just around the shaft, but it may be possible to wear it around both if you don't mind something tighter.

This toy can also be used solo by a woman, either to add to a 'traditional' style toy or just for clitoral stimulation. Because of the low quality and weak bullet there are better things to order for this purpose, but it would do in a cinch.

This toy is not meant to be inserted at all. It's not anal safe at all, and could easily get lost in there, so that's not an option. It's also not a good shape or design for vaginal insertion, but if you really want to try it you can.

The bullet on this toy is meant to stimulate the clitoris of your partner when worn. It also can stimulate your partners perineum, so it works well no matter what gender of person you are using it with. The bullet also adds a bit of vibration to the penis, though not enough to really get excited about.

If you're a couple looking for a first toy, this would be okay. It's low quality, but cheap and easy to use. It's a good way to introduce toys into the bedroom, especially if there is apprehension. While there are more quality vibrating rings out there, this would be an okay way to figure out what you like.

If you're looking for a first solo toy, there are many better options. Not only is this not very strong or versatile, but it's also not a very good deal as far as clitoral stimulator go. Something that can be used for both internal and external play is usually best for a first toy.

This toy is easy to use in a dorm or if you live in close quarters with others. It's quiet and discreet, and the small size makes it easy to stash just about anywhere.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of flexible, black silicone and plastic. Plastic is rated an 8 out of 10 on the Eden Safety Scale, and silicone is rated a 10 out of 10.

Silicone is body safe and nonporous. This means that bacteria can't get inside the surface of the material and thrive, and also that it doesn't contain any dangerous chemicals that can leak into your body during use. Silicone is a fairly flexible material, and it also tends to feel a bit 'tacky' and pick up lint and gunk from where you store it.

Plastic is also nonporous and body safe. While silicone is very plush and flexible, plastic is entirely rigid. No part of the bullet has any give at all to it. The bullet has almost no drag to it at all, and it also is not a lint magnet.

To disinfect this toy you can wipe the entire thing down with a 10% bleach solution, or you can bleach the bullet and boil the ring. The ring can also go into a dishwasher. You should disinfect this toy between users, and also if you go from using it during anal sex to vaginal sex, just to be safe.

The silicone for this toy is very matte and smooth. It's not tacky at all, but it can grab pubic hairs. Because of this it's best to use lube and/or trim your lower regions when playing around with the Yours and Mine.

The material is quite flexible, and it has a bit of give to it. The ring portion is stretchy, and should fit the shaft of almost any man (if you're SUPER girthy it may be tight, but you'd have to be quite large.) The portion that holds the bullet has enough stretch to make it easy to remove the vibrating addition.

Silicone is a great material for all users, but it's especially preferred to people new to cock rings. It may not offer the same constriction as firm materials, but you have the option to easily cut it off if it feels too tight or gets stuck.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all
    • Stretchy

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

This toy is well-designed, especially for beginners. It's a very traditional 'vibrating cock ring,' and doesn't really add any new ideas to the design, but it's usually best for a beginner to start with something 'standard.'

The unstretched diameter of this ring is 1.25 inches. This is about the average girth of a penis, so on most peoples shaft it will be tight enough to stay on, but not very constricting. It can stretch to a diameter of 3 inches, which is a bit thinner than a coke can. This is a good diameter for people looking for something constricting to go around the balls and shaft.

There is a small tab at the back of the ring for easy gripping, which actually makes it easier to hold and put on. While it still can be an issue if you have a lot of lube on your hands, it's a nice touch.

As far as the bullet goes, it is 1 inch long in total. It's about half an inch wide, but the loop where it goes could stretch to accommodate a slightly larger bullet. It's pretty standard sized for a bullet, so it shouldn't be super hard to find something to replace it with.

The bullet would be good for people who don't need super pinpoint, direct stimulation. There are some vibrating rings with patterned, longer, or taller clitoral stimulators, but the 'Average Joe' of couples should be able to get some fun out of the basic design.

Because of the stretch and naturally wide diameter, this is easy to put on the shaft of a penis. If you're planning to use it around the cock and balls you may want to put it on flaccid, but it's certainly not as much of a struggle as rinds made of a firm material.

If you leave this out it's very obvious what it's supposed to be. People who have never seen a toy will still recognize this from commercials and such. Though it's not discreet if left out, it's a great size to hide. It's small enough that it would be fine to stash in a purse or pocket, and would be great for travel.

In total, this ring is for people who are starting to look into rings. The design is basic, but effective, and is probably less restricting than it needs to be to add much girth to your partner.
    • Beginner
    • Can fit over both shaft and testicles
    • Will fit most men

Functions / Performance / Controls

This toy is easy to use, controls wise, even if the performance isn't quite up to par. This toy may impress newbies, but if you've had more than one toy in the past you will probably be looking for a replacement bullet soon.

You control the bullet with one button on the side. It's easy to press, even in the heat of the moment, but isn't in a position where it's easy to accidentally turn it off during the action. Sometimes you do have to press a bit hard for the button to click all the way, but this isn't too much trouble.

If you press the button once, the bullet turns on to the one setting. The setting is about a 1 bee and 2 vrooms. It does have a bit of a problem where tilting it (shifting the batteries) can make it weaker or stronger, so you may have to watch that when changing positions. You turn it off by pressing the button again.

You can feel the vibrations a bit in the ring, but they probably won't add anything unless the person wearing it is very sensitive. The vibrations are certainly more buzzy than rumbly.

As far as how this works in restriction... If you're wearing it only on the shaft, there probably won't be much added benefit. It's not tight enough to trap blood in the penis, which can add girth, strengthen orgasm, and give you an erection for a prolonged period of time. This is really a ring meant to test the waters for beginners.

The functions of this bullet are really not going to thrill anyone, even if you're naturally sensitive. It may add a bit of vroom to your sex, which can help push you over the edge, but it's not going to do the job on its own.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to use
    • Not very stimulating

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made of silicone and plastic, so it's pretty easy to care for. It is a bit of a lint magnet, so washing it both before and after use is highly recommended. The is a small inscription of "Fifty Shades of Grey" on the bullet portion, which can't be felt in use, but can be a pain to clean. You can wash this toy with an antibacterial toy cleaner, soap and water, or you can wipe it down with an Eden Toy Wipe).

You can also disinfect this toy in two ways. You can wash the entire thing in a 10% bleach solution, or you can wash the bullet in bleach and boil the ring. The silicone ring is also dishwasher safe. This toy should be disinfect every time you switch orifices or users to prevent the spread of bacteria and infection.

You should avoid storing this toy in contact with other silicone (or silicone containing) toys. The two materials could react together and leave them damaged. Along the same lines, you should avoid using this toy with silicone based lubricants.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging for this toy is very basic. It comes in a fairly small, dark colored, cardboard box. It is re-closeable, but not super sturdy. It has a similar looking theme to the books that it is 'inspired by.'

The front of the box states "Fifty Shades of Grey" in silver print and has an image of a grey tie. It also states that it's a 'Yours and Mine Vibrating Love Ring." The sides have the same text, but no image.

The back of the box has an excerpt from the novels. It isn't exactly classy, but it does suggest that the ring can help couples achieve simultaneous orgasm. It also has some basic instructions and a diagram of the toy.

Inside the box, the ring is held by two pieces of plastic, along with 4 watch batteries. It's easy to remove, but may be a bit inconvenient for storage. There were no other instructions included in the packaging, and some new users may like a bit more information.

This toy also came with a grey storage pouch. It's actually pretty discreet as long as no one opens it up, and closes with a drawstring (which can be tied.) This is the best way to store the toy, and has room for some condoms or a small bottle of lube.

As far as gift giving goes, this doesn't seem super high quality, but it would be great for someone who enjoyed the books. It's not tawdry, and it shouldn't scare anyone off.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet

Experience

This toy didn't blow me away, but it would be a good introduction to rings. Looking at the target audience for this line, people who are looking to spice up their sex lives in ways inspired by the FSoG novels, this is acceptable.

I would have much preferred that that this be $5 more and have a better bullet, but at the same time it's easy to replace the bullet with something else. The storage bag actually impressed me, and it's a good size to stay on but not be TOO constricting when worn on the shaft.
