Lube XXX original - lubricant discontinued by Joyful Pleasures - review by Kitten

I had my son a year ago and stopped breastfeeding him five months ago, so because of that my hormones are all out of whack, causing my boyfriend and I to need a little lube here and there. So when I found out I was going to get some lube to test, I was kind of excited. Then when I saw the name, “Lube XXX|Lube XXX original,” I got really excited and figured with a name like that it had to be good. My boyfriend and I have tried several different kinds of lube so I know exactly how I want things to feel when using a lubricant.

The day I planned on testing the lube was like most post-baby sexual encounters; I needed lube! So I whipped out the little grey bottle of “Lube XXX” so we could test it out. My boyfriend put some on, and then he told me that he thought he put too much on. But I did not care. As we started, I could not really believe that he had put too much on because there was still too much friction. So I told him to put some more on, and there was still too much friction. So then I just told him to get the bottle of KY warming sensations.

Then we tried it again on another day, this time starting out with a lot. It was better, but I just think we had to use entirely too much to get that desired gliding effect.

I personally prefer the KY brand because you don’t need to use a lot, so the bottle lasts long. Since we had to use so much to get the effect I wanted, I could see myself having to restock more often then I’d like to.

I’d give “Lube XXX” one star because, like I said, I feel like we had to use too much. I was pretty disappointed with this product because I had high expectations. Since I like the KY brand, I guess I prefer more of an oily lube, and this lube felt somewhat oily, but you could definitely tell it was water based [editor’s note; KY offers water based and silicone based lube, but does not make oil based lube. Lube XXX is water AND silicone based].
