Sensation Without Slickness

I was fairly disappointed in the unnatural, greasy feel of this lubricant. However, it provides a wonderful added stimulation in the form of warming and cooling sensations from the peppermint extract. It lasts a decent amount of time, but requires repeat applications because of its thin consistency.

Use

Because I primarily use lubricant for solo masturbation, I typically use water-based lubricants, since I have many silicone sex toys that would react badly with silicone-based lubricants. The best thing about this lube is the warming/cooling sensation of the peppermint. Sadly, the texture of it is somewhat underwhelming.

Though there is a slight peppermint taste, it is overwhelmed by the taste of the silicone base. Because of that I wouldn't recommend this lube for oral sex. Although I'm sure that it would provide an added something to intercourse with its warming/cooling sensation, I'm not sure that the thin, oily texture of this lube will hold up to extended sessions. I personally don't find that it provides the right kind of slickness for me.

See the "Packaging" section for information on the warnings listed on the bottle.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Honestly, I was pretty disappointed in the tactile qualities of this lubricant. Having felt the durable, silky slickness of other silicone lubricants, I was not impressed with the thin, somewhat greasy feeling texture of Wet Ecstasy Silicone. It doesn't feel at all like my own natural lubrication. I find it to be too thin, oily, and slightly tacky. I much prefer thicker, more slippery lubes.

Taste / Aroma

This lubricant smells absolutely delightful, on account of the added peppermint extract. I love it. It's distinctively minty and sweet smelling, very much like a stick of peppermint chewing gum, but the smell is not too strong. You can only smell it when you put your nose up close to it. The peppermint taste is noticeable as well, but a bit strange in combination with the taste of the lube. It's tastes a little like...plastic. Or, yaknow, silicone! The cooling/warming sensation of the mint also works for a short while on your tongue, which is a very interesting feeling. Not necessarily a good kind of interesting.

Be aware that, aside from peppermint, the ingredients are as follows: Dimethicon, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, mentha Piperita(peppermint) Extract, Muira Puama Extract, Ginger Root Extract, Passion Flower Extract, Gingko Biloba Extract, Mexican Damiana Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, C12-15 Alkyl.

Performance

Since the consistency of this lube doesn't really do it for me, I find myself reapplying it fairly often in an attempt to get the same slickness that I can get from my favorite water-based lube. However, the greasy, oily feel does last fairly long and must be washed away with soap and water.

The main appeal of this lube is the tingling, cooling sensation, which lasted about ten to fifteen minutes. It feels wonderful. It's a gentle, mild sensation that feels like subtle waves of hot and cold.

Packaging

Wet Ecstacy Silicone lubricant comes in a 3.1 fl.oz. bottle. It is black with hot pink and silver lettering and a secure, rounded cap. It is well designed in that the liquid will not leak out unless you give the bottle a gentle squeeze. In my experience, if you just hold it upside down without applying any pressure, the lube doesn't come out. The front of the bottle says "Wet Ecstacy Xtra Cooling Sensation Silicone Lubricant". The back lists the ingredients, warnings, and directions, as well as an expiration date. My bottle expires in October of 2015, so that's a nice 4 year shelf life. Which is good, because I really don't see myself using this product very often...

Directions: Use as needed to supplement your natural moisture and enhance intimacy. To relieve personal dryness, apply a small amount to the area of the body you wish to lubricate. Reapply as desired. Easily washes away with mild soap and warm water. Latex compatible.

Warnings: If irritation or discomfort occurs discontinue use immediately. Do not use if tamper evident seal is removed or broken. Keep out of eyes and ears. Keep out of reach of children. Store at controlled room temperature 59 to 86*F (15 to 30*C). Very slippery, clean spills immediately. This product may stain some fabrics. Test a small area before use. Do not use near an open flame. Once opened, bottle may leak if not stored upright. Do not use with other silicone products. For cosmetic use only.
Follow-up commentary
The fact is that this lubricant has its place. Since writing this review, I have found it somewhat useful for extended partnered sessions, especially in the shower. Silicone-based lubricants will not wash away in the shower the way that water-based lubricants will. This lube works fine for penetrative sexual intercourse or water play, though my first preference lies with other, thicker, more natural feeling silicone products, such as Uberlube. In a pinch, it will get the job done, but it will never be my first choice for intercourse and it doesn't even get anywhere near me during masturbation sessions! I can't stand its greasy, unnatural feel when I'm playing solo.
