Lubricant discontinued
by Joyful Pleasures

To ease or not to ease, that is the question.

Mr. Ease anal spray is designed to relax the sphincters with out and kind of numbing. Just apply, rub it in and wait a short time before getting to it. Its is compatible with all lubes and is condom safe.
This product is a bit of a quandary for me, aside from it containing silicone (so it is not suitable for some materials), I don't really have any reason to say not to use it. Of course I have only a few good experiences, which may or may not have been genuine, to say try it.

extremely useful review
Mr. Anal Ease, hmm, now when I was sent this for review I was a bit excited and apprehensive all at the same time. Excited because if there was something to help relax the sphincters, especially when dealing with big toys, I would be all over that. There are times when I don't have a couple of hours to warm up with smaller toys so I can use the big boys. BUTT, I know that a lot of the time anything that helps relax also numbs, definitively NOT something I want nor should anybody else. Once again, big toys=big chance of damage.

So, I headed over to the product page and read the summery. Not only once, but twice it states "non-anesthetic". So I figured, why not? If nothing else maybe this would be a good lube that can be sprayed on, bonus right?

Mr. Ease anal spray is a silicone based relaxing spray and according to the can it is for males only. Not too sure why they say this, there is a warning about not using it on any other orifice, so I can only assume they say that so there is no chance of female users getting some on the Vulva or in the vagina. One would think with a little care it could still be used but, since it absorbs into the skin there could be a chance of it getting to the vagina. I guess it would be best to err on the side of caution and not take the chance.

What do you get for $20.99? Well, you get a small can about the size of those trail cans of Axe body spray. While it looks like an aerosol type can, it has a pump type dispenser. This works pretty well but only if you can hold the can somewhat upright. Now just imagine trying to spray this on your ass, some contortionist type bending and fancy handling is required. Still, it is workable. I found a mirror helps some.

What comes out is NOT a lubricant, unless you consider water a lube; it's about the same consistency. Even the silicone in it does not do much for lubricity. No, this is more like a topical spray. It smells like citrus cleaner and tastes about the same; not something for tossing salad, eh?

Ingredients are as follows. I searched around for a brief description of each ingredient and gave the source as well.

Isopropylmyristat, from wikipedia.com: "Isopropyl myristate is used in cosmetic and topical medicinal preparations where good absorption through the skin is desired. Isopropyl myristate has been shown to show a comedogenic and irritability to users with acne-prone skin"
Citrus aurantium dulcis, from ewg.org "Volatile oil expressed from the fresh peel of the orange fruit."
Dimethicone, from wikipedia.com "Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) belongs to a group of polymeric organosilicon compounds that are commonly referred to as silicones. PDMS is the most widely used silicon-based organic polymer, and is particularly known for its unusual rheological (or flow) properties. PDMS is optically clear, and, in general, is considered to be inert, non-toxic and non-flammable."
Dimethiconol, from ewg.org "Antifoaming Agent; Skin-Conditioning Agent - Emollient."
Myristica fragrans, from wikipedia "The nutmeg tree is any of several species of trees in genus Myristica. The most important commercial species is Myristica fragrans, an evergreen treeindigenous to the Banda Islands in the Moluccas (or Spice Islands) of Indonesia. The nutmeg tree is important for two spices derived from the fruit: nutmeg and mace."
Citrus maxima, from wikipedia "The pomelo (Citrus maxima or Citrus grandis) is a citrus fruit native to Southeast Asia."
Cymbopogon citratus, from wikipedia "Cymbopogon citratus, commonly known as lemon grass or oil grass, is a tropical plant from Southeast Asia. Citronellol is an essential oil constituent from the Cymbopogon citratus, Cymbopogon winterianus and Lippia alba which are thought to possess antihypertensive properties It contains 65-85% citral and active ingredients like myrcene, an antibacterial and pain reliever.
Marjorana hortensis, from herbsguide.net "Marjoram is a perennial evergreen shrub, often grown as an annual with red-brown stems and gray-green, oval leaves. It is used internally for bronchial and chest complaints, tension headaches, anxiety, painful menstruation."
Citrus nobilis, from dermaxime.com "Citrus nobilis peel oil is the oil expressed from the peel of the mandarin orange, citrus nobilis (citrus recutita). It is classified as an essential oil and is used as a fragrance ingredient. It is known as mandarin oil and tangerine oil."
Rosmarinus officinalis from wikipedia "Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a woody, perennial herb with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves. It is native to the Mediterranean region. It is a member of the mint family Lamiaceae, which also includes many other herbs.

**Please note, "precaution is necessary for those displaying allergic reaction or are prone to epileptic seizures. Rosemary essential oil may have epileptogenic properties, as a handful of case reports over the past century have linked its use with seizures in otherwise healthy adults or children." (Wikipedia.com)

So basically, Mr. Ease is Glycerin free, Hypoallergenic, L-Arginine/Paraben/Petro-chemicals free and made with a bunch of natural stuff. Even after an hour sourcing this info, I still don't know what provides the relaxation properties. haha

All right, the big question, eh? Does it work? After placing the order I thought about the best way to test this product. How do I judge the effectiveness of a relaxing spay and verify that it does not numb. I figured the best way was to forgo my usually pre-anal play routine, no hot shower and warm douche. I just grabbed an EF wipe, cleaned up and broke out the Eleven, just in case all went well, and I also grabbed the Sexy Spades large. Pulling out the Throe I laid down for testing.

The bottle states that it is fast working but does not say how fast. I figured ten minutes would be pretty good, so I sprayed some on (two pumps) and rubbed it in. I passed the time getting the lube out and warming up the Eleven (Pretty cold in the bedroom that day). After the ten minutes I applied some Maximus to the toy and myself and got down to business.

Now, most of the time I can start with the 1 3/4" dia end of the Eleven after the hot shower and douche (The warm water helps to relax my anus), but cold it takes some time. It slid right in. OK, so far, so good. After a few strokes in and out I switched sides. The 2" side slide in almost as easy, it did take some easing in until the "Stretch" can be felt and then letting it slide back out, but on the third time it slide right home. "Cool, does this stuff really work?" Well hell, everything is going so good I grabbed the Sexy Spades, slathered on the lube and got to it. Now, this is at the limit that my asspussy can currently take. I have to warm up with the Eleven and Randy a LOT before this toy even thinks of going in. This is also where I knew I would test the "non-anesthetic" claim. While it still took some time, it did go in easier than usual and I defiantly felt every inch of stretch. The next two times I got the same results, the bigger toys go in easier with less time.

That said, I have to wonder. Jimbo recently wrote a great review titled "Dumbo's Magic Feather", this review and the meaning behind the title comes to mind as I write this. Is this spray just a "Magic Feather", is it just some kind of mind trick? Finding nothing that tells me what causes the relaxation to happen sure makes me wonder.

I guess you will just have to decide for yourselves.

I was puzzled looking through the ingredients too... I'm going to try making a paste of dimethicone, dimethiconol, orange peel, pomelo peel, mandarin orange peel, lemongrass, nutmeg, marjoram, and rosemary (I assume it's the isopropyl myristate that's not safe for the ladies?), and see if it stretches my mouth out, just for a li'l test. None of those are super relaxing... I mean, I love nutmeg, but...

Let me know how it works Antipova, might not taste all that good though.

ROFL, I can picture the scene. And getting trapped against the couch too!

Hmm, I can see the citrus, nutmeg and maybe the rosemary as minimal topical anesthetics, with the lemongrass a little more effective (maybe he nutmeg too) and marjoram as a relaxant.

I'm surprised they didn't go with Mexican tarragon, Tagetes lucida. It has mild antibiotic properties and makes your tongue go numb. OTOH, that and allergen issues may have been why they rejected it.

But if it numbs your tougue, it would do the same to the anus. That would have negated the " non-anesthetic" properties. The court is still out with me on this one.
  • Contributor: biggieaddict
;-) What I said. I'm off it due to the Silicone content.
